From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the amazing staff, especially Laurel, who made us feel comfortable straight away. The accommodation was clean, quiet, peaceful, and beautifully presented. The kids absolutely loved the pool, which added to an already enjoyable experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning in the future.

These are small recent cottage, great bed, AC working fine. It is a bit off road but you can go to Cambridge with 12 min. You are aldo close to Hobbyton. Pool closes at 18h00. No staff available past 18h00, no cafeteria or restaurants, and you have to walk to your cottage thru a maze of sidewalk.

Stayed one night only but wished we stayed longer to hang our fishing boots a little longer. A spacious studio for 2 people was very clean and had a small kitchen with a cafe table! The indoor hot tub was a welcomed amenity after exploring Hobbiton! The grounds staff were all friendly and Perkins, the dog, greeted us, too. Laurie, the office manager, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Her husband was a delight to talk to, also, about fishing, of course!

The staff was very nice. It is not a resort nor is it a motel (we uaed it as a motel). It really is a retreat. Very quite. Very peaceful. They talked us in to staying until 12 so we could try some of the facilities no extra charge.

The units are stand-alone and spacious, surrounded by neat gardens. The unit we stayed in is fairly new and was very clean. Our family of four adults had enough space to relax, with separate sleeping areas and a full bathroom. A number of facilities which we used met, and in some cases, exceeded our expectations – tennis court, indoor swimming pool, heated salt pool, gym and sauna. The staff was friendly.

The spa has beautiful grounds. Each room has a separate cottage that was impeccably clean and comfortable. The people were most helpful and welcoming. We wish that we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend staying here.

Lauri was so incredibly kind and helpful during the check in process and being so accommodating with the amenities and it truly made the experience so peaceful and enjoyable. It’s quiet and relaxing and rejuvenating.

The property was beautiful and had such a great time while we were there, really looking forward to staying again. Only comment would be on the cleanliness of the bathroom as the shower had water marks and soap scum all over the glass, bath hadn’t been cleaned as there were hairs throughout and the toilet and basin had stains. Laura the general manager is so lovely and accommodating so thank you for everything my family had a wonderful time

Arrival & Atmosphere We arrived around 3 PM and check-in was smooth - there was one staff member at the front desk who was expecting us. However, the resort felt unusually quiet, almost empty. During our stay, most facilities appeared closed, including dining and the spa. It’s unclear whether these are only available in peak season. We did notice a couple of staff cars later in the day, but overall the property felt very inactive. Facilities & Amenities Some amenities were either unavailable or underwhelming. The sauna and steam room are located in a small unisex space and are not kept running - you have to turn them on yourself and switch them off after use. The pool area was also closed, and we were not provided access. In the chalet, amenities were quite basic for a wellness resort. There were no slippers or bathrobes, no paper towels in the kitchen, and only one box of tissues in the bathroom. The tub/jacuzzi did not come with bath salts or proper toiletries, so it wasn’t very usable. There is also no in-room safe. Basic items like bottled water, cups, and dining sets for two were provided. Room Layout & Design We paid about NZ$405 (~$238) for a one-bedroom chalet (65 sqm). The space itself is generous, but the layout is not very functional. The bathroom connects to the closet, which is convenient, and having an ironing board is a plus. However, the shower is quite small, the sink is shallow, and the toilet is tightly placed between fixtures, making it awkward to use.

Was told that we could not use the pool or sauna as a women's weight loss retreat was on. Parking was poor. Can't fault the chalet other than no cooktop available.
