"Staff were very friendly and accomadating. When we first got to our room on the 2nd floor my husband noticed water dripping from the ceiling and looked like a leak in the roof possibly. We notified front desk staff right away and they moved us to a different room on the first floor. Room was clean. Main issue was the door to the bathroom was broken. It was a pocket sliding door and it didn't lock and wouldn't stay closed. Rooms could use some updates but wasn't horrible. Pool was packed both nights we were there. Pool was really warm so kids liked that. Jets in hot tub didn't work and water in the pool wasn't filthy but was little dingy looking like their filter system needs updated. Kids loved the arcade. We went to it both nights we were there. Had issue with the prize machine the 2nd night but it didn't help that other kids were hitting the machine and it was super packed so I am sure the system was overloaded. Went back in the morning to get prizes and it worked fine. Hotel manager was in there double checking stuff when we went back in the morning. People don't respect the no smoking as someone was smoking pot in their room and you could smell it all down the hallway. Resturant was mediocare. Wouldn't go back to again. Wait staff was friendly but food just wasnt all that great. For the price they charge the portion sizes were pretty small for the pasta. "

"We appreciated the warm pool and the hot tub! Def the best part of the hotel stay. Lots of kids played our entire stay, but this hotel even had a kid free pool time for adults at the end of the night which I thought was cool. Asking for towels as we were all soaked and dripping in the lobby, leaving puddles into the swimming area was very annoying though, and made a safety concern for anyone entering/exiting that door. The room was okay, I had a buzzy fridge that I drowned out with the AC. The breakfast could've been better. "

"My husband and daughter stayed. They said it took along time for someone to come to the desk to check in. The elevator button was not working. The following morning there was no juice or milk to drink for breakfast."

"The La Quinta Inn in Ankeny has everything a family needs…..A pool, breakfast, and a safe area. It’s located in an area with plenty of retail and restaurants. It also has a very nice fitness center."
