"Great hotel and friendly staff. Fantastic central location for visiting Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, seahouses and Alnwick. Food was great, especially the breakfasts. Comfortable room overlooking farmland with Bamburgh castle in the distance. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely come back at some point."

"This could be a fantastic hotel but unfortunately the facilities are very lacking. This hotel doesn’t serve lunch or evening meals as they don’t have a chef yet. As this place is a bit out of the way it wasn’t what we were expecting. We had paid for 2 nights but left after 1. We booked a deluxe room with garden view. Deluxe it definitely was not. The shower cubicle had the previous guest hair on the walls. Not for us and we wouldn’t return. Could be a fabulous place. Hats off to the guy running the place who seems to be the receptionist, cleaner, barman & breakfast cook rolled into 1. "

"Lovely stay in a nice room with en-suite, loved the old furniture and beautiful bathroom fittings. Staff lovely, continental breakfast with lots of choice. Parking is free, and although it is a very small village it was nice to walk around and the villagers were friendly too. "

"Superb as always frequent re-visitor, beautiful location on banks of the Tweed an abundance of wildlife just from the bench overlooking the river. Food very good top marks to new chef. Stayed in suite 316 as always spot on … we like it that much we married here 10 years ago and that was a superb day as well."
