Verdi Budapest Aquincum

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely Spa. Nicely renovated but small room."

PRIME STAY BUDAPEST

10/10 Excellent

"A brilliant place to stay at a very affordable price. The rooms and common areas were clean to an excellent standard. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We did have a slight issue with room keeping as we only had one pillow each and wanted another. They kept saying we’d get them but never did. Just a few doors away is a convenient SPA shop with all you could need for your room. There is also a LIDL at the bottom of the street. It’s a beautiful location with a Church and park opposite. The rooms were modern and the beds comfy. The washing machine in the bathroom was extremely helpful and they gave us a complimentary pod. There were maintenance people working on our floor but they were very respectful and we had no issues. The Bistro attached to the Apartments is a separate business but absolutely fantastic. Fresh food at enviable prices. All in all you likely won’t find better at this price point. We had a great stay."

Danubius Hotel Helia

10/10 Excellent

"Nice hotel. Clean and nice location. Reception staff were wonderful but many of the staff in restaurant lounge and buffet were rude and short; almost annoyed you were bothering them. Stayed there before; probably will choose another location bcuz of the restaurant lounge evening staff. Breakfast and lunch buffet were very good but dinner buffet was not. Spa is fair. Nothing spectacular. Only one pool available due to construction. Had two Thai massages. The first was amazing with Anna. The second with another woman was awful!"

Erzsebet Kiralyne Hotel

8/10 Good

"I'd happily stay again at the Hotel Queen Elizabeth in Gödöllo, which is essentially a suburb of Budapest, Hungary. Everything was great with one exception, which was the temperature. Even though it was cold outside much of the time, the hotel was too warm for my taste and the thermostat in my room seemed to do nothing. Eventually, I just opened the window to get come cool fresh air. At least it was possible to open the windows, that's often not possible. Overall, the hotel building is charming, everything worked, the staff were great and the breakfast was excellent, and served in a beautiful restaurant. Hungary is a beautiful safe country with a fascinating history and Gödöllo is full of pleasant polite people. It was particularly lovely when I was there at the end of October, with the many trees showing autumn colors. The whole experience there was good enough to make me want to go back and take my wife."
