Koshinetsu, Japan hotel rooms at the Kyukamura

Great location in Niigata’s geisha district - who knew? Accommodation spectacular. Bathroom could use improved lighting. Other than that, beautiful accommodation with amazing staff.

Our stay at the Ryokan Tsuchi to Ito was nothing short of a dream. The ryokan itself is beautiful with gorgeous details and comfort in every corner. The host, Kimi, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, and provided wonderful recommendations as we spent our days exploring Nagano. The front desk agents were super kind and helpful. They both spoke English. We needed that. Bountiful and delicious dinner and breakfast buffets were included. Our room was amazingly well appointed and large. The king bed was beyond adequate. It was two full sized beds bound together. We hope to return to this property some day.

Private retreat nestled in the woods of Karuizawa! Wonderful host - very friendly and attentive. Our visit in June was right before their hydrangeas blossomed….i can imagine it would have been even more magical!

The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was amazing! Very. Courteous and helpful the moment you arrive. The station is a within walking distance which is helpful if in a rush.

A 5 star experience in a wonderful wooded area of the city. Striking design and great ambience combined with top level amenities, excellent food and friendly staff make the stay at this hotel an experience that I will always remember. Get ready to be spoiled when staying at this hotel! Part of the amenities also includes plenty of parking and a free shuttle service to the train station.

Beautiful 5-star hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding--definitely worth the money! Location is perfect--right outside of Nagano station (5 mins from train to hotel lobby). I'll stay here again for sure!

This stop in our trip was a favorite, small quaint city. Lots to do, could walk everywhere, no problem. will definitely go back to Matsumoto. The hotel was centeralized, clean, friendly, just what a traveler looks for at day's end.

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. Really enjoyed my 6-night stay here. It really is a traditional Japanese hotel and experience and loved the friendly and helpful staff, and the location is just a short 10 min scenic stroll across the river to the bus/train station. Didnt know what to expect but the Japanese style tatami rooms were cosy and comfy, and the outdoor onsen was just what was needed after a day on the ski slopes.
