If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area.

On our first night, there was a huge thunderstorm, and we enjoyed sitting next to the corner window with snacks and drinks while we watched the storm. The location, across from the JR station, is very convenient and it's easy to get around the city by walking or bus from the hotel. Rooms are a good size, in excellent condition and have great views.
