  • May 2016 Italian Court, Kutná Hora, Czech republic The Italian Court (Czech: Vlašský dvůr) is a palace in Kutná Hora. Originally, it was the seat of the Central Mint of Prague; it was named after the Italian experts who were at the forefront of the minting reform. The main area of the mint consisted of coin-makers-workshops, or Smithies, which were located around the courtyard, and the minting chamber, called “Preghaus”, where the Prague groschen were struck. After its reconstruction at the end of the 14th century, the Italian Court became a part-time Royal residence of Czech kings. Kutná Hora hosted the most important silver mines in the land from 14th to 16th century and the Prague groschen coin was the unified money instrument from 1300 to 1537 in the whole kingdom. The importance of the Mint and Kutná Hora has ceased in 16th century due to the cheaper import of silver from South America.

Amazing stay

This hotel was more like an apartment. We had 5 people with us during our stay and everyone slept comfortably! We had homemade dinner and then breakfast and coffee in the nice kitchen. I would live there if I could. Beautiful place.

Love how clean and spacious the room was. Check-in/Check-out was very simple too since you just do it thru the app, and number lock make it so there's no chance you forget your room key. But beware you have to carry suitcases up the stairs if you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor since there's no elevator.
