"A tranquil, soul-cleansing stay near Bergen — highly recommend
My family stayed at Villa Blue View Apartment for 5 days in August 2026, as the last stop on our Scandinavian trip. We chose it for its proximity to Bergen City, easy access to hiking trails, and being right on the water — and it exceeded every expectation.
Frode and Svanhild, the owners, welcomed us with real warmth. We spent wonderful time getting to know their family, and it gave the whole stay a personal, homey feel that's rare to find. As a family from NYC, the quiet and stillness of the property felt like a genuine detox — my 8-year-old spent his days "fishing" by the water and feeding the two resident swans that stopped by daily for a snack. Such a simple joy, and one of his favorite memories from the trip.
If you don't have a car and want to properly unplug, this place is ideal. Frode even offered to drive us to the grocery store and to the bus stop for a day trip into Bergen (about 30 minutes away) — that kind of thoughtfulness made a big difference.
