The staff was friendly and mostly professional.
Free coffee and tea in the check in lobby area. PCs to use as well.
No laundry machines.
The ceiling heater on the 3rd floor was broken or ineffective.
My electrical outlets in the bed headboard was broken.
The whole place was clean and held together but not comfortable. It's minimalist style was a bit harsh. The loaner slippers were a good idea. The matresses had rips in them but appeared clean and were comfortable.
The vending machine has drinks. No food, soup.
I also found a 200 yen coin locker a few blocks away but only a small shoebox size locker onsite is provided as a free option w 1000 yen deposit.
My rooms floor was covered in backpacks and suitcases.
Towels are 200 yen. Only towels are sold, otherwise its 7-11.
7-11 is a close 5 minute, but chilly walk away.
Showers had free soap & shampoo. There's free wifi and a code for access after hours.
I got a poor night's sleep, was cold in both upper and lower areas.
I fell asleep before midnight to the distant rumble of trains (I didnt mind) and noisy fellow bunk mates (didnt care for much).
I didn't feel like the place was worth a second nights stay.
Probably won't return.
Staff and hostel very good. However, I didn't like that you have to go through the communal area, kitchen, basins to get from the female dorm to the showers and toilets.
The employees are pretty nice but they also live in the same hostel rooms as you. This wouldn’t be an issue but you would at least expect the rooms to be tidy because they are also using them.. but no. The women only dorm had clothes and baggage scattered all over the floor and nudged into corners. The rooms also small really bad and unclean. It’s smalls like smelly socks and BO. I thought to myself How could the very employees live like this!! Thankfully I only booked two nights but I wanted to leave the very second I stepped into the room. This was the worst hostel I stayed at in my whole stay in Japan, sorry.
This place provided a lot of information of tourist spots, how to get to them from the hostel, hours of operation and fee. As I literally planned where to visit the night before it was really great to have everything already there when I arrived.
