Everything about our stay was wonderful. It’s perfectly situated, away from the crowds but still close to the main shopping area and trains. You can also find a mixture of local and touristy restaurants. The staff is very kind and helpful and speak perfect English. I think this is now my favorite hotel in Kyoto.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mimaru. The room was huge for 5 of us. Having a washing machine and dryer was great. 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms was fantastic. The train station was very close and we were central to everything. We would highly recommend Mimaru Suites Kyoto Shiju.

MIMARU SHIJO was the best hotel we stayed at on our 3 weeks trip in Japan. Very convenient area to get around. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The two bedroom suite was perfect suite for my family so everyone could have their own space. In suite laundry was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful and the MIMARU luggage delivery was the best service we experienced out of all hotels we stayed at. I would highly recommend this property to anyone, especially families.

Amazing room and food.

We were welcomed by friendly staff, and beautiful grounds. We do not speak Japanese and the staff could accommodate. We booked a room with a private onsen. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. Our waitress took the time to help us understand how to enjoy each course.

Very nice property, just a short walk from Shijo Station. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful in providing recommendations, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would go back if we are ever in Kyoto again.

This is a great hotel for families in a special part of Kyoto. The staff were particularly lovely and helpful. We will definitely stay again. We loved the happy hour and the Japanese calligraphy classes.

Great apartment for families. Very spacious. Easy and beautiful 15-20 min walk to Gino street or main tourist area. Close to subway. Temple right outside hotel. Beautiful. Free happy hour of beer and sake everyday. I would stay here again and I’m very picky.

We had a great stay. We are a family of 5 with two littles and a teenager and the two room suite was perfect. Loved the amenities, we were able to start our day with hot tea. And we had the option of a happy hour which was usually around the time when we were returning from the day of exploration. Highly recommend.
