We enjoyed our stay at Rinn Shiki Juraku. The rooms were clean and very beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. The staff was friendly and accommodating, particularly Riku who helped us fix a malfunctioning AC unit in our room. Overall it was an incredibly lovely experience and we would definitely come back.
I thought the environment and the staff were very friendly and cozy. It’s a short walk from any convenience store and Nishiki market is about a 15 to 20 minute walk.
The onsen is definitely a plus after a long day of walking.
Truly a fantastic property that is a very relaxing stay. The Machiya’s are amazing and the light snacks for breakfast, afternoon tea and drinks in the evening are amazing.
Quite a unique experience with traditional Japanese furniture and room layout. The owner clearly put a lot of thoughts in building out this hotel by integrating modern appliances into traditional Japanese house architecture. Beautifully decorated garden. Staff were super helpful.
Beautiful property designed for a good refresh. So glad I stayed here and took advantage of the bath with a garden view. Staff was extremely helpful; my credit card got frauded and I had to get a replacement. The staff was extremely helpful in navigating the postal system for me.
Quiet neighbourhood near the Imperial palace with beautiful parks and a nice break from the chaos of other tourist areas.
This place is beyond beautiful, but it just wasn’t for us. It’s beautiful and safe, but it’s more rustic than expected. The ground floor is cement, which has cracks where bugs get stuck on. We went in the peak of summer so there were lots of mosquitoes and spiders inside, and we had a small dead roach stuck on one of the cement cracks. The AC is upstairs and it’s capacity doesn’t cool the entire place, so it’s was still hot and humid in there, which made it uncomfortable. The smell of the humidity woth the wood makes a musty smell too which trigged allergies and just wasn’t super comfortable. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the staff is super nice, location is a bit further from central places, and this is a more rustic place, maybe not the best for peak summer time because of the bugs and heat. Appreciated the staff and the looks though!
Great boutique hotel, unique in its traditional structure of OLD Kyoto and yet updated with modern elements. Breakfasts are more snack like, complimentary evening cocktails is a nice way to end the day.
Perfect stay! Really beautiful property and rooms/townhomes. Amenities are excellent, delicious breakfast and free drinks in the evening.
If you want an authentic feel & modern comfort in your stay, I highly recommend. Will be coming with friends next time.
This was the nicest hotel I think I've ever stayed in. The room was absolutely huge and felt so luxurious. It was in a nice location, close enough to central Kyoto but also far away enough for a nice and quiet break! Staff were lovely and helped with everything. I will definitely be staying here again when I'm in Kyoto!
This hotel easily ranks in my top five stays. My only regret? Not having my family with me to share the experience. But no worries—that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back with them!
Our family stayed in unit 10. It is a beautiful two-level traditional home with a gorgeous bath, three televisions, spacious sleeping quarters, a living room and a roomy kitchen-dining area. The bath and living area face a lovely internal patio garden. Staff is very helpful and regularly puts out drinks and snacks in the common area. Easy walking distance to transit and many sites. Worth every penny!
