Really good value for money

Very good valué for money. Situated across the Road from La Digue Island Lodge whose facilities you can use. Very friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Supermarket in the building. Highly recomendable.

The property is conveniently located in a main road near the beach and hotel amenities. I rented a bike and and it was very convenient and all one would need for transport. Great restaurants near the property. Simple and efficient. I had terrible WiFi connection. If one relies heavily on Wifi, keep in mind it is not consistent.

Skønt ophold med god service

+ Rigtig godt til pengene og beliggenheden var god! Vi kunne benytte alle faciliteter på hotellet Island Lodge. De var meget hjælpsomme med at arrangerer diverse ting; Hike, leje cykler, snorkel ture og sejlads til de omkringliggende øer. - Dykkercenteret der lå på hotellet var lukket under hele opholdet og vi blev hver dag oplyst at de ville være åbne dagene efter kl 8 om morgenen og det var vigtigt at være der til tiden hvis man skulle have plads. Vi ventet forgæves hver morgen. Det betød at vi ikke fik dykket under opholdet. Der lå også et dykkercenter nede i byen, som vi efterfølgende blev opmærksom på, som skulle være rigtig godt.

Lage negativ, positiv: Annehmlichkeiten der Lodge

Die Lage der Appartements in der 2. Reihe über einem Supermarkt ist nicht der Hit. Aber sauber, große Zimmer mit Küche und großem Bad. Wenn man das Zimmer sowieso wenig nutzt ist’s i.O. Der große Vorteil: man kann die Annehmlichkeiten der La Digue Island Lodge nutzen und hier ist Lage, Pool, Restaurant etc. wirklich schön.

Per quello che ti danno è carissimo, dovrebbe essere un appartamento ma nella cucina mancano i fuochi il lavandino e c'era un frigorifero arrugginito che faceva un casino bestiale, poi gli appartamenti sono distaccati dalla struttura principale sopra ad un supermercato e una pizzeria, a circa 150 metri dalla piscina e ristorante, avevamo solo due asciugamani, e i condizionatori facevano casino, abbiamo mangiato a buffet con un costo in due di circa 95 euro, mi sembra un esagerazione, visto che io mangiavo riso e insalata, perché per il resto era cucina molto indiana.

Good, but know what you're booking

Note: Gregoire's Apartments are private rooms in a building on the main street. The photos of a beautiful pool area and beach are from La Digue Island Lodge, the nice resort you have access to while staying there. The good: - Our housekeeper was excellent. Always ready to jump in and make up the room to perfection, once even with lovely little towel swans. - The resort area that you get to use is nice. Excellent buffet dinner at a reasonable price, good breakfast with an omelette bar, beach-side pool area with shade and sun seating options, plenty of relaxing covered spaces for rainy days. - Transfer from (and back to) the ferry is a big bonus, and the manager himself showed us around. We saw how busy he was day to day which made this even more appreciated. - The pizzeria on the ground floor has good wood-fired pizzas. - All of the staff we interacted with were wonderful and it's clear this place is impeccably managed. They do really care about your stay and work hard to make it a good one. The not-so-good: - The rooms are clean (awesome housekeeper) but quite outdated, especially the bathroom. If they updated these rooms they could probably charge a lot more for them. - If you only look at the photos of the nice resort and then arrive and realize you're in old rooms above a grocery store you'll be disappointed. Know what you're getting and you'll be set to enjoy the arrangement.

Rommet var sparsomt innredet og alle rommene vender ut mot hovedveien på øya. Så noe bråk må påregnes. Huset er gammelt og mindre innbydende enn på bildene. Frokosten serveres ca. 300 meter fra huset i nydelige lokaler med utsikt over havet. Frokost-Lokalet er bygd over havet på en veranda. Frokosten har stort utvalg og god kvalitet. Det kan leies sykler til ca 70kr dagen på hotellet og man kan låne strandhåndklær for et depositum på 400 rupees (300nok). Da vi skulle sjekke ut ville ikke front office mangeren gi oss pengene tilbake fordi vi trodde vi hadde mistet kvitteringen på betalt depositum, dette til tross for at han så at vi leverte håndklærne og hadde notert inn depositumet i en bok med vårt navn dato og hotellnr. Dette er skikkelig dårlig service og en måte å lure en relativt liten sum fra alle gjester.

Pictures don't match the true look

When we got to La Digue and we walked to the hotel from the jetty because we did not get a response to our email asking for it's location and the potential to be picked up at the jetty as advertised in their website information. The free shuttle was there at the jetty but we didn't know it was for our hotel because the name is different from the apartments. The apartments are over a grocery store and bank. The rooms were fairly old and the pictures of the entire complex on the book site were photo shopped. There is a ton of remodeling going on around the hotel complex. The breakfast included in our room rate was really the best part of the stay. They have a great buffet style breakfast with eggs, bacon, crepes, fruit, pastries and beverages. The kitchen staff was great.

Best value for money at La Digue - no doubt

When arriving at La Dique we received a friendly and warm welcome by the staff. The apartment was clean and the location was great, close to everything in La Dique. Downstairs there is a supermarket and a pizzeria, very handy if rain. The apartments are located on the main and quiet road. When sitting on the balcony you can experience the daily lifestyle of the residents. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served next to the beach, at La Digue Island Lodge, was excellent. Very nice staff. At breakfast the highlight is the chef making your eggs. The pool and the beach are not located directly at this place but they are still available for use. The bicycle rental was very good. Free transfer from/to the jetty. Internet only on the public areas at Island Lodge. This was our third stay at Gregoire´s and we will be back!
