“Loved the area and the sheep behind the in was a nice touch. 😍. Having a full English breakfast was a fab way to start the day. Wishes we stayed longer to have dinner there as well. Had a great sleep and would visit again.”

“On arrival was told restaurant was closed due to a private function. A telephone call would have been appreciated so we could sort out our meals. Also listed as a hotel and was actually a very loud pub.”

“I loved this old hotel for is quirky charm and character. Wasn't so keen on the six spiders living in the corners of our bedroom! There was no phone in the room, as advertised in the welcome page, so we had to go down to ask for things but the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would def stay again. Lovely and quiet and very spacious room with a great view. Would def benefit from a fan as it was roasting in our room. Breakfast was lovely and the whole stay was very good value for money.”

“The food was delicious , the staff were accommodating and the scenes were stunning. The room we had 39 was a little tired and needed a lick of paint on the walls as there were some patchy paint bits.”

“3 nights in late July. Hotel is a great place to stay to experience the Lake District, not far from Ambleside but remote enough to feel like you are really in nature. Staff and breakfast were excellent. Walk up to Stickle Tarn was a good test with a couple of scrambly bits but well worth it once you got there.”
