Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre

Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre

8/10 Good
"It is a beautiful place but unfortunately way too many steps to get to use the outdoor pool And way too much walking and again steps to access the indoor pool for those like myself with mobility issues. I was very disappointed that I was unable to use the pools, they were beautiful. The place itself is beautiful but it could be made more accessible for people with mobility issues. Even to access some of the outside game areas it would be nice if there was a golf cart or some other method of transport to be used to go up snd down to play the games. I would have liked to have been able to use all the facilities without worry. Another thing you might address for your own protection as well as that of the guests is regarding the lovely new showers that are installed. They do have a railing that you can hold on to but the smooth floor is very slippery when wet and there are no bath mats or some kind of texture on the floors to make them safer."

"The breakfast wonderful best I’ve seen, ever, for being included in the price of room. The overall property needs a refresh and the rooms, also. Conveniently located for visiting all the towns in the area. Last but not least, the price of hotels for a two night stay. Not just this one, but all hotels. Getting too expensive, almost 500.00 for two nights."

"Laurie communicated with me before my arrival which was helpful. She showed me the room which was fantastic, #3, I believe, which had a tiled cascading shower. Amenities were top notch: waffle robes, French roast coffee, gourmet teas, water, snacks, mini fridge, consistent and quiet air split system, sitting area, I like that they ask you to remove your shoes at the entrance. Parking off street worked well. Great tips on where to visit and where to eat. Mahone Bay is a much quieter town than Lunenberg but close by. Highly recommend the Magnolia!!"

"Cathy and Murphy were wonderfully welcoming hosts! She takes good care of a lovely historic property and serves up a generous tasty breakfast. We were so glad we stayed in Mahone Bay rather than Lunenberg -- it was a charming spot, small but lively. Highly recommend this B&B as a home base while visiting the area."
