Everything you come to expect when staying at Mercure. Clean, tidy, good facilities including a pool and gym. Friendly and very helpful staff. Easy parking. Good central location. Nothing negative to say at all. Would happily recommend and in fact already have to friends visiting Le Mans.

The public areas of this hotel were very well kept and of good quality. We dined in the restaurant and the food was very good. The pool and wellness area were also exceptional. The rooms are more small, basic and functional.

Nice updated hotel. Easy access to highway. Clean. Stopped here for one night to visit the museums in town. Breakfast buffet in the morning is decent to start your day. Plenty of parking right outside the hotel.

So this place has been advertised as a spa hotel and the photos suggest a very high quality. The pool is tiny, the gym is not really a gym and the running machine was out of order, the sauna room is very small. The whole spa sauna complex is pretty dismal. Secondly, we had bugs in our room and we mentioned this to the staff. I would have expected upgraded rooms straight away but we dis not get anything. I have taken photos of the bugs which I will Upload, these consisted of bugs and ants. Also, no milk in the bedrooms… how do you make a tea and coffee…? So on the whole this has been advertised as a four star and it is clearly not. It is a struggling three star and they need to address their issues to make it a four star. Their attention detail is not good and the whole experience was not great for what we paid.

Just to make future guests aware the majority of rooms are in the old non-refurbished part of the hotel, not the refreshed images shown widely on Google and the booking sites. Our room and amenities would have been inline with a two star hotel. Tight floor plan, plain walls and hospital room vibe, hard unsupportive mattress, prickly bedsheets, air conditioning that was weak and made the room smell like a rubbish tip, one towel for two guests etc. Positives were that parking was secure and staff reasonable. My luke warm review is based in managing expectations. We believed that we were paying a higher rate for a room above a two star, based on the online images, and the reality was starkly different.

There are building works in progress, to get to to our room we had to navigate a staircase without automatic lights and couldn't find the switch, we ended up on the building site. We finally found our room, the corridor had no fire escape door! The door was locked and a sheet of wood was nailed onto it ! We didn't need an alarm in the morning as the building noise was the alarm. I think this is a perfect example of money before customers!
