“The view of the dale, valley, mountains and trees is amazing. This hotel sits just by itself but it’s heaven placed! Parking is easy on the street, breaky is included in the price and Sam and the team make you feel at home with good food (it was pie day!), beer and a nice cozy restaurant with a view. Our room was squeaky clean, compact but super comfortable.”

“A nice travellers rest inn, we had a very spacious ground floor room with an equally spacious ensuite, the room was a little noisy early evening, but was generally quiet overnight. Well located in the centre of Bakewell close to all the town has to offer. The adjoining pub has a great atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.”

“Loud. Incredibly loud. First, they gave no indication that the room I was staying in opened directly onto the street. The door lock was strange, perhaps just something I'm not used to, but I struggled with ensuring that it was locked during the night. (I work in a technical field, I'm not dim, but jeez, I felt stupid) Considering people milling around outside the pub at night were quite drunk, shouty, and possessed of questionable decision making, I ended up putting a chair in front of the door...

“We loved staying in an historic hotel. So charming. The rooms were simple, in need of renovation, but clean with comfortable beds. Stepping into the pub was like going back in time. Great beer there, food not so great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”
