"Modernised interior of an old property, retaining some original features. Room was nice and staff friendly. Bar/restaurant seemed under-staffed in the evening but good service at breakfast, which was excellent."
"Really nice hotel right on the seafront with a great bar and restaurant. We stayed in the lodge over the road and it was comfortable, clean and well stocked. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, and parking was ok, although generally busy and not easy to get a spot"
"Very helpful staff ; clean and functional room; spa facility very good - used pool and jacuzzi ( steam rooms out of service) ; restaurant and bar relaxing inside and out ; good selection; of food and rwfreshments ; food was very good . Easy access . Good base for exploring Suffolk Heritage coastline , Framlingham just 10 miles away
Marvellous stay . Will be back . Thank you"
"Was a bit disappointed with the fried breakfast, bacon was too crispy. There were other lovely options I wish I had had, e.g Eggs Benedict or pancakes.
Limited parking. We were lucky with a parking space but concerned that we might not be so lucky next time."
"We enjoyed a one-night stay with our dogs, who were made to feel welcome straight away. Water bowls for furry friends are placed all over the premises. The weather was warm & because our room was first floor, it was a warm bedroom so we were grateful for the fan provided. Although the window of our room overlooked the main road, we slept with the window open & this was fine, as it’s such a quiet area. Check-in was efficient; the receptionist was very polite & helpful. We had some lovely teas, coffee & biscuits in the room. Unfortunately, the sink & bath taps were both problematic. The cold tap in the sink ran hot, unless you left it running for ages, after which it eventually ran cold. The hot tap in the sink was scalding hot. I’m 5’7” & was unable to stand under the shower head over the bath, I had to stoop to fit under it. The bath taps were also very sensitive, in that a minor turn in one direction turned the hot water from tepid to scalding. So there’s a clear problem with plumbing, which we reported. There was a wide choice for breakfast, but the restaurant was very busy with few waiting staff who were run off their feet. So when I asked for a flat white, I was told they could only serve this after breakfast finished at 10am; they were too busy before then. The only coffee served at breakfast was filter. We both chose avocado & poached eggs on sourdough. The toast had no butter, which meant that the bread was disappointingly tough. Overall, a lovely place to stay"
"The bathroom was clean but a little dated , staff were so nice and very friendly, breakfast was fine but I would not recommend the vegetarian sausages. Parking was plentiful until an event is held. The carvery is very good and very popular, with a reasonable price tag. The dining areas are good with some nice waterside views both inside and out, as the hotel is on the waterfront.
