Very convenient and walkable to downtown Lenox, plus there's a free EV charger at the property.
The inn is old but charming -- i.e., the library with its wood paneling, its out-of-tune grand piano, and the orange upholstered furniture; definitely feels like staying at an inn during a different age! We had a nice stay overall!
However, there doesn't seem to be a sense at the main front desk (located at the Constance Inn, about 1/2 mile away) of what's happening at the Dewey, where we were. Also, there wasn't much explanation about when doors would be locked or what we could use or not use at the inn. During our three-day stay, there were three different guests who appeared in the library or parking lot, thinking we were staff and asking if we knew how they could check in. (Somehow, they didn't get the text we received before checking in -- that you need to start at the Constance first.) I didn't mind being asked, as it was fun to meet new people -- a B&B experience instead of a corporate hotel experience -- but the fact that it happened three times suggests there's a communication problem between the Constance front desk and the Dewey guests. Ultimately, it felt a bit like we were cast offs by staying at the Dewey instead of the Constance (though maybe that was reflected in the price point of the room, and I just didn't realize the difference when booking).
Still, we had a lovely time overall and really appreciated the charms and location of the inn. Thank you!
