  • I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Great place to stay outside of Sintra

Cute hotel that looks like a former estate. The people working there were very friendly. The pool was nice. The only downside is that it is not walkable to Sintra, we had to drive.

Small hotel with clean rooms and a country style surrounding. The property is tucked in at the end of a tiny street with no sign for the street or hotel. If GPS did not keep taking us back to that dirt road, we would have never found it. We arrived at 7 pm the front desk was gone and they sent a whatsapp message telling us where they left us the keys which took us 30 minutes to find after a 3 hour drive. Breakfast was reasonable and staff were friendly when they are there!!

One of the nicest properties we have stayed at in the Lisbon area but unfortunately we can’t go back as it was unpleasant. We arrived to a property empty of staff with no indication of how to get keys or which was our room, another guest ended up helping us. After dinner we arrived back to a locked gate with no means of opening which I had to jump. Next day finally saw someone, complained about the previous day, was yelled at by the owner, accused of fabricating the event and of losing the gate control (which we didn’t receive). He “invited” us to leave but refused a refund. The rest of the stay was awkward and tense. A shame as we’d love to return to this lovely and comfortable property.

Nice cute house and we enjoyed our stay there. Better if you are driving as you would need to drive out for food and sightseeing. There is free parking in front of the property. Narrow stairs to reach second floor where our room was. We didn’t have problems taking our luggages upstairs but do consider if you cannot carry your luggages at all.

I do not recommend staying at this place as it is at least 15 minutes from the city of Sintra. There are no restaurants around so you have to drive quite a distance to eat. I think the place was Photoshopped as it looks nothing like the pictures on Hotels.com. we were quite surprised that it was in the middle of nowhere and no one was here to greet us at 6 o’clock. Luckily, I saw an email that was sent earlier in the day and it was like a scavenger hunt trying to find the key to get into our room! The soap and shampoo bottles would not work properly so we had to just keep them uncapped. Pillows were very uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok. It was not a full breakfast as mentioned on Hotels.com Next time I would find a place closer to the town.

Un lugar encantador, q transmite calma y paz. Las habitaciones acogedoras, las camas muy cómodas y grandes. El desayuno muy completo. Tudo muito bem. Apenas um ponto a apontar. Na viagem em que nos esquecemos de trazer chinelos/pantufas, foi a viagem que calhou o alojamento não ter nada para prover essa necessidade. Além disso o chão, especialmente da casa de banho, era gelado, e por isso tivemos de estender toalhas para podermos andar à vontade. De resto tudo bem inclusive a simpatia com que fomos recebidos. Pessoalmente gostava de ter tido um pequeno almoço mais apetrechado (uns ovos, bacon, etc) mas percebo o porquê talvez não tenham isso à disposição.

Nous avons passés une magnifique semaine au sein de cet hébergement. Le personnel est très accueillant, sympathique, et disponible. Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses. Les jardins sont magnifiques, fleuris et très bien entretenu, avec plusieurs terrasses à disposition. Les petits déjeuners étaient bon et contenaient beaucoup de spécialités portugaises. Le coin piscine est très calme, un peu froide mais c’est à cause de la période (fin août), il y avait également beaucoup de vent dans la région en fin de journée et le soir (prévoir des vestes). Prévoyez également une location de voiture car pas de transport a proximité, ou Bolt (pas cher du tout au Portugal). Nous vous recommandons cet hébergement à 100% !

Me gustó especialmente su ubicación. Muy cerca de Lisboa, pero a la vez en el campo, rodeado de naturaleza, animalitos, con un río donde hay peces, gallinas, un huerto. Por la noche tiene una iluminación muy bonita en el exterior. El estilo de la decoración interior y la zona de la piscina también me encantó.En el desayuno nos servían los huevos que ponían sus propias gallinas. Se respira paz y tranquilidad. Nos gustó muchísimo conocer y hablar con Fernando, el papá del dueño del hotel que es encantador y cuida con mucho mimo el huerto. Nos regaló los tomates para el desayuno que estaban buenísimos. Seguramente volveremos.

Une très bonne expérience

Nous sommes restés 2 nuits dans un appartement avec 1 lit gigantesque. Probablement un équivalent king size et un lit simple enfant. La chambre est climatisée. On sent que tout a été refait à neuf. Toutefois on a pas trouvé la douche très pratique en terme de gestion des éclaboussures. Et la distribution des pièces faisait que le lavabo de toilette est dans la pièce des WC. Rien de bien grave et on comprend qu'ils n'ont pas eu le choix. La piscine est très agréable et nous avons eu la visite d'une adorable chienne qui est venue demander des gratouilles que nous avons donné avec plaisir. Excellent petit déjeuner avec plein de produits frais en partie déjà disposés sur la table et en partie buffet. Localisation au calme. Très beau cadre.
