it is a very old building and the kitchen area floor was very uneven, the kitchen area was suitable and it was set up sufficiently well for a shared space, views from the windows of rooftops. Our room, we had a private bathroom, was large, it was clean enough. Hot water didn't always last for two showers. Need to remember you will be walking up three to four flights of stairs to get to your room. You are certainly in the middle of Little India, as a white, blonde female, I wouldn't have felt safe walking through the area on my own, there were a lot of males standing on the street, taking a good look, other females were rare to see and were usually wearing traditional dress and in the kitchen. Take care. The Uber drive indicated that the area was not particularly safe. Could walk to the station, but not a great one, and was walkable to other places. Was ok, just check it out to ensure it suits your requirements.

This was a nice, centrally located spot. My room was well-lit and had a lovely view from the balconey. The kitchen area was kept really clean and it was nice to have access to a kitchen. There are comments about the neighborhood, but as a woman traveling alone I never had any issues coming and going from the apartment at all hours. Nobody ever bothered me. I would stay at the Color Hostel again.

Hotel itself was very clean, staff responded fast through message so we could enter in with code, the actual room it’s safe as someone would have to go through 2 coded doors and a locked door or climb 6 stories, the outside was definitely on a sketchy road people were staring so make sure to look at your surroundings and the people at ALL TIMES. I probably wouldn’t go alone, other than that the room was amazing for the price and bed was very comfty!

This place has some things going for it, but it all gets ruined by the constant loud noise from the air vents, blowing curry smell from the restaurant downstairs in the bedrooms. Also the handyman was making a lot of noise and using the kitchen as his office, making loud phone calls while I was trying to take a nap after travelling. Thin doors don’t hold back any sound. No rest here, no peace.

I can not fault the hostel. It was clean and well furnished. The area was not safe in my opinion. There is open drugs taking, dealing on the street outside the flat and open solicitations. Not safe for solo females.

First of all this is the worst place I have ever stayed at. I booked a room for two nights with a friend, but we moved to another hotel for the second night. The guesthouse is located in a very sketchy neighborhood, which made us feel unsafe, especially at night. The walls/doors are paper thin, so we heard other gusts conversations. The pictures on the add does not reconcile with the room that we received, and the sheets were full of stains. Not recommended.

Can’t even get in

Arriving without receiving any infos just to find out the front door is locked. The signage of the guesthouse has no contact information. None of the door bells work, tried contacting the phone number shown on the listing but no responses. After a standing on a busy but sketchy street for almost an hour till it gets dark, I have to find a place at a near by hotel… terrible experience. Strongly suggest to get in contact with someone from the guesthouse at least a day before arriving.

The stay was terrible, I'll describe my experience: The guesthouse is located in Little India of Lisbon and I felt super unsafe as a solo traveller. No communication before I arrive, had to wait 15 minutes in the open street with my luggage before I got my passcode, imagine the anxiety. I got a room worse than it was promised, they told me my original room was not ready, I had no choice because I just wanted to get into the hotel. The next day they offered me an upgrade to a nice room in city center with private bathroom, which I think is good. It's just I didn't have a good first night, the street condition of the initial guesthouse is really bad, check online before u book.

Check In / Out ohne Personal sehr einfach - gute Beschreibung erhält man im Voraus. Es wird sich erkundigt, ob alles okay ist - Anmerkungen so schnell wie möglich behoben. Das Gebäude hat Altbaucharme, die Wände sind recht hellhörig. Solange sich alle Gäste an die Ruhezeiten halten, ist es okay. Eine Nacht wurde diese nicht berücksichtigt - nervig, aber überlebbar. Wir waren im Zimmer Q43 (Comfort-Suite/ Stadtblick) - comfort ist gegeben, simples Zimmer, sehr sauber. Der Stadtblick ist ein wenig übertrieben, da wir überwiegend Sicht auf ein zerfallenes Hausdach hatten. Das Bad war soweit so gut - sauber, aber nur notwendig instand gehalten. Die Duschkopfhalterung rutscht beim Duschen, etc. Der Föhn funktioniert dafür einwandfrei. Die Gemeinschaftsküche enthält das Nötigste, allerdings bei voller Belegung zu wenig. Der Kühlschrank ist sortiert mit Fächern für jedes Zimmer. Wohnarea stabil. Zur Gegend: In der Beschreibung wird gesagt, dass die Gegend zu einer der Sichersten gehört - sehen wir anders. Generell ist uns Lissabon sehr sicher vorgekommen, wir haben nichts unangenehmes erfahren. Martim Moniz gilt tagsüber als sicher, nachts allerdings als Ort für Kleinkriminalität und Drogenhandel bekannt. In der Straße des Hostels sieht man überwiegend nur Männer - weshalb ich als Frau mich alleine unwohl gefühlt hätte. Es gilt die Empfehlung als alleinreisende Frau diese Gegend spät nachts ebenfalls zu vermeiden.
