"No one in shop or office to report issues to, I txt the owner on Friday morning & they didn’t even open it until after we left on Saturday morning.
No bathroom lights working, no outside light by hot tub and no covering over it to protect from weather/trees, so it was not used. No heating for night time so the hut was really cold, it was a good job I took extra bedding.

"The staff gave a great welcome . Great quality food and very affordable for a hotel . Montgomery is a delightful small town with amazing views across The Marches"
"Excellent location for visiting Ludlow. Near shops, pubs and the castle. Welcoming friendly staff. Good breakfast though would have appreciated some fresh fruit on offer. Had dinner one night in the restaurant- food and service good.
Room clean, beds comfortable. Our room had a balcony which was good except at night as opening the sliding door was the only way to get any fresh air into the room therefore making it extremely hot. Didn’t feel we could leave the door ajar as there was a staircase next to us leading into the carpark therefore felt it was a security risk.
Overall though a good stay, would recommend, but don’t choose a room with a balcony!"
"Great little pub with amazing food, rooms have everything you need and the staff were amazing. Left out glasses behind and they found them and posted them back. Will definitely be back again."
"Check-in was smooth and easy, Jackie and her staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Our room was immaculately clean, fresh and the bed was very comfortable. We were warned on check-in that the Talbot doesn't do food on a Sunday evening, however we were able to eat at another venue nearby. We did have a couple of drinks from the bar at the Talbot, which were good value.
The village of Berriew is picturesque and we enjoyed walks around the village and along the Montgomery Canal. The location is also very convenient for visits to Powis Castle and its gardens. Parking spaces in the car-park looked a bit tight, however there was plenty of space to park along the quiet road outside.
Breakfast at the Talbot was delicious and well presented, if anything we'd ordered slightly more than we needed, but it was all good so we ate it all.
We'll be back when we're next visiting the area!"
"The Lion Inn is an old building so one must make allowances for this which we did. The whole layout of the Inn is somewhat querky with dark coloured decor punctuated with glass wall displays which I assume were the work of Andrew Login, a local sculpture. The rooms were equally decorated in bright colours, each having a unique theme. The bathroom was modern with an excellent shower. All in all, we spent a very comfortable night with a good cooked breakfast in the morning."
"Great place to stay. Lovely, peaceful location with a tasty breakfast. We were in room 2, it was a nice big room but I feel it was overpriced for what it is. There were 3 big stains on the carpet, broken light switch near the bed, pillows were lumpy and I felt it just needed a good deep clean/freshen up. For almost £200 I was a little disappointed. Wouldn’t put me off staying again as we loved the location and only a 10 minute walk into town."
"The room was small but nicely decorated. Only gripe was TV was a bit temperamental which might have been me. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Location is by a main road but very convenient for Ludlow and local area. Plenty of parking. Staff were very helpful."
"The Lion is a beautifully restored historic JEM in the heart of the rolling hills, expansive fields and rivers of Wales. Next to the Famous Fairgrounds and lively town center make it a must."
