Had a lovely stay while away with work. The food was amazing and it is a beautiful building, with so much character. All the staff were very friendly and professional, especially Glen who runs the hotel excellently! Thank you for a great stay, I'll definitely see you again when I'm next up that way :-)

A pleasant stop over

Last minute booking as I was driving north. Shortly after received a courtesy call checking for arrival time. Very large car park. Close to the motorway (no noise issues) Very polite receptionist. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. I have zero complaints from my overnight stop.

The property was lovely and warm, clean and the staff made me very welcome. I arrived too late to have dinner but the breakfast was lovely in the morning. If I was in the area I would most definately stay there again.

Very nice

Lovely hotel and a lovely building. Very quiet when i stayed there so no food or bar open but that was OK for me. I had a lovely room, directly over the entrance and featured in the room pictures.

Booked hotel with breakfast and was told that I hadn’t even though money was taken out of my account. Very rude on checkout with bangs on the door 4 mins after checkout telling us we need to leave immediately.

Dated, food excellent.

Ideal stopping point en route to highlands but very run down. Thin walls so you can hear next room. We did not get a good sleep because next door had a radio and tv on. The build is very old and they have done as much as possible but limited. Bathroom door did not close. The food options and taste was delicious. The breakfast was really good too. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There is no lift.

Wedding

Unable to check in due to unforeseen power outage, had to change into wedding clothes in emergency lit toilets. Bad attitude from the hotel manager re the situation. Fortunately power was back on when we returned from the wedding ceremony. Wedding meal etc was good , room nicely presented, service ok but staff not very friendly. Meal was 7pm , but the evening was curtailed when we were told the bar was closing 10.10 pm. Though only 25 of us at the wedding, we would have thought keeping the bar open to an acceptable time was in their interest as well as the guests. So early night it was. Rooms ,toilets,bar area & restaurant were good due to refurbishment. Would never stay there again unless a change of management & staff was put in place, who fully understand the art of good customer service. Be careful before booking👎

Not for me.

Wouldn’t stay again. Hotel situated at the side of the motorway so it’s noisy, considering it was only 12 degrees outside the room felt about 30. Two single beds pushed together for a queen size, one more comfy than the other, and then theannoying split down the middle. The restaurant closes about 8 so missed dinner, the local town is god awful, everything closed down and looks baron.

Not the greatest

The venue was chosen for a family wedding. Most people stayed the night before and the night of wedding. Right from check-inn, through bar service, and frankly anything else related to guest services, the was an air of self importance in the staff, assertive is one thing, rudeness is quite another, I would say very much borderline and perhaps some misguided feeling of superiority is present. Every single staff member seems to be trained to blurt out an instruction and walk away, leaving no ability to challenge or seek explanation. I would certainly never visit this hotel as a leisure guest.

SURE HOTEL thumbs down

The owner who was on desk duty was very arrogant and unhelpful. The staff made up for the owners arrogance. They were brilliant. The bedroom was nothing like their photo. Very small outdated, no drawers to put ones clothes in, just enough space to hang a few coats and dresses up. Bathroom out of date. floor tiles coming away from floor, shower over bath with a cheap curtain across it. No hand rail to get in/out of bath/shower. Paint flaking of radiators and a massive crack on bedroom ceiling covered with wallpaper. At £90 per night not a good advertisement for BEST WESTERN. Wouldn't recommend SURE HOTEL.

Manager was rude to his staff and guests .I stay away for work 2-3 times a week and bank on hospitality ..I was embarrassed for the people he was offending. I don’t leave comments as a rule but I felt like I had to to warn people of the poor service… hotel was great just the manager(owner as he liked to be called)

Great location for stopover

Great location, just off motorway. Lovely staff, very friendly. Good breakfast, not huge, but enough. Only negative, room was very warm and had to open all windows during the night and you could hear traffic noise, (there is also a a fan in the room which we used aswell) but wouldn’t stop me staying again.
