Econo Lodge Cortez near Mesa Verde
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed here several years ago and it wasn't very good. This time it had been remodeled and was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the breakfast buffet."
Super 8 by Wyndham Cortez/Mesa Verde Area
8/10 Good
"The price was good. The staff was courteous. The lobby was well done and inviting. Our room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable and everything worked well. The chair in our room could stand a deep cleaning. The outside grounds need some serious TLC and the stairwells could use some vacuuming. The hallways were clean. There are no elevators and you have to go down stairs to get to bottom level and then back upstairs to 2nd and 3rd floor. Not a drawback for most but hard for elderly and impossible for handicapped. We did not try the breakfast but it looked like a basic continental breakfast and the area looked clean. Overall we would recommend and would stay there again."
Quality Inn near Mesa Verde
10/10 Excellent
"Pam, the woman that checked us in was the sweetest. It was great to see such a smiling face after Really Long Day of driving. We had two rooms and three dogs. She made sure our rooms were all the way at the end and next to each other. That made everything easier for us. She even called to see if we needed anything after we got checked in. She had little packets of cookies for our dogs and told us where there was a good park, right around the corner, to walk them. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. I liked that it had laminate floors. There were no pet odors at all. We had a vehicle and a giant u-haul pulling a trailer. We had no trouble parking and the area seemed safe. We had no problems. The lady that did breakfast on Sunday was atrocious. My husband said good morning to her and she just snarled and grunted. There was a construction worker that had been staying there and told him she was there last week too and treated them all the same way. The breakfast was almost cold and she didn’t even put out the waffle mix. It’s a shame to have a dark cloud in an otherwise really great environment. The area was really nice. There were plenty of food options and the park we walked to was lovely. We chose the place because it allowed dogs. We would stay there again even if the dogs weren’t traveling with us. Thank you Pam for starting our trip off in such a lovely way."
Far View Lodge
8/10 Good
"If you want to experience Mesa Verde in the early morning or late afternoon or evening, the Far View Lodge is your best option for accommodations since it is the only facility within the park. The rooms are modest, but provide all the essentials including good and clean beds, excellent reading lights, a small desk, frig, coffee maker. a large picture window, and a small outdoor terrace. Staffing and training workers for seasonal work in remote National Park hotels must be a huge challenge, so it is understandable that quality control of getting every room super clean after heavy check-out mornings could slip, as several fellow reviewers have noted. So it is probably a good idea to check your room as soon as you arrive. It's also good to remember that, by comparison to the earlier residents living in the cliff dwellings, Far View Lodge is the lap of luxury! :-) If the weather is nice, I would highly recommend having dinner at the lodge's rooftop lounge for expansive views of the Mesa."
Hampton Inn Mesa Verde/Cortez

National 9 Inn Sand Canyon
8/10 Good
"Clean room, nothing broken, missing or not working. Parking is a little tight, unless you're on a motorcycle. Good location, gas station right across the street. I have stayed here multiple times. Nothing fancy, great for an overnight stay."
Ute Mountain Casino Hotel
8/10 Good
"I was not comfortable there"
Cortez RV Resort
8/10 Good
"I had a good stay. I never got to see any staff members, but that was ok. I had two issues: the first is my air conditioner wasn’t very cold and two my remote control didn’t work. Other than those two things it was clean and I was able to rest well."
Cortez Cozy Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Only stayed two nights very clean rooms quiet at hotel very happy with the stay."
