We loved this historic and quirky hotel. The room and bath were spotless and comfortable, and the bed and linens were high-quality. We didn't like the stairs (there was no elevator), but it was only two floors. We had help with our bags at checkout. The location is perfect in a little alleyway connecting two main streets. We would stay here again.

The biggest problem with this property is that we booked it from the Expedia website listing as a Hotel. It is not a hotel. It is an air bnb. It should be listed on Vrbo, not Expedia. It is a perfectly fine air bnb type accommodation. However, if you are expecting a hotel with a staff to man a front desk, bell service, or an elevator, forget it. If one stays on the top floors, dragging one’s luggage up the stone steps is difficult. The air conditioning is not really adequate. If you want an air bnb, this is a fine choice. If you want a hotel look elsewhere. The Expedia listing for this property should be removed and placed on Vrbo.

Wonderful location. Staff not flexible w/ checkin

Hotel has a 2 hour check in from 2-4. Otherwise you must get a code to let yourself in and you are on your own until breakfast the next day. If we knew that when we booked we may not have chosen the hotel as we did not want to be tied to the hotel staffs 2 hour window period to check in

Cozy place right in the midle of everything

Rustic hotel in just in the midle of everything in Lucca. Nice beds, quiet in the nigths and easy access to all you want. Will definitely stay here again!

The location of this property is amazing, although a little difficult to find if you're using Google Maps. As its on the opposite side and end of the lane than shown. My host for the stay, Franca, has been lovely and offered some great suggestions of things to see/do on arrival. The rooms themselves are beautifully decorated, however I found the bedding and pillows particularly uncomfortable. Also, the rooms are not soundproof at all, which is understandable given the age of the building. Just something to be aware of. Perhaps bring some earplugs to sleep in. Overall a pleasant stay and I would recommend.

Cozy, romantic stay in a real piece of history!

The room features and furnishings were beautiful and truly unique! I loved the exposed brick, wooden beams, and antique furniture. The frescoes are very colorful and definitely added to the atmosphere. Felt very welcomed by Franca and we really enjoyed our morning cappuccinos and breakfast. After hours check in was extremely easy and helpful since we arrived late. Location was convenient for exploring Lucca and was only 10 mins walk from train station. I hope to stay here again in the future, I'd love to see what the other rooms look like!

A Beautifully decorated room

A lovely little hotel and in a great location. Room was decorated and presented beautifully. In the en suites for both our rooms the shower tray was small and the shower needed unblocking to obtain an improved water flow. Good breakfast with a very attentative host
