  • Located on St. George Hill, over-looking the city of Lviv, the church was the perfect target for destruction in the past. At least two versions of the St. George Cathedral were built before the final construction of the church as it is seen today. The Cathedral of St. George became the mother congregation of the Greek-Catholic religion in Ukraine. The St. George Cathedral in Lviv, is home to one of the most treasured relics, which was brought to the cathedral by Bishop Jiseph Shumlianskyi in 1674. It is the Icon of the Virgin Mary, and is a spectacular and preserved artifact. The interior was decorated with luxurious embellishments created by the local artistic talents of Lviv. Pinsel, the sculptor of the cathedral, created the spectacular St. George (known as the Dragon Slayer) statue. The St. George statue can be viewed in the attic of the cathedral, while the intimidating statues of St. Athanasius and St. Leo protect the portal. Renovations to the St. George Cathedral took place in the 1996, restoring the original beauty of the cathedral. Tourists, visiting this amazing historical masterpiece will not be disappointed. Over and above the cathedral, visitors can also visit the belfry, walk through the peaceful gardens or enter the final resting place of many important figures of the past in the tombs below the cathedral.

To climb the tower, go up the first four flights of stairs to the ticket desk. The way is clearly marked with signs in multiple languages, including English. At the desk, pay 10 hrivna and then keep climbing up, up, and up until you reach the open deck at the top of the tower. Then enjoy the view!

Podana informacja że hotel ma 5 gwiazdek , a Nie ma żadnej . Obsługa bardzo miła, wymieniali codziennie ręczniki jednak noc więcej . Mam wrażenie jakby pościel była niewymieniona a tylko ułożona po poprzednikach . Jedzenie cały czas to samo na śniadanie , było niestety mocno przeciętne . Pokój duży ładny , choć mogli by od czasu do czasu uprać firanki bo były aż żółte od tego kurzu. Ogólnie Daje 6,5/10

Disappointment

The hotel was very dirty, the staff was friendly but not so useful. Booked one type of room but received another one - smaller, darker, dusty and dirty with a small window, after 3 nights they finally did change me the room (the booking was for 7 nights). The other room was better but also not clean, even after they "cleaned" it.

Ніколи більше не зупинюся у цьому готелі

Я дуже люблю Львів і тому вирішила провести там два дні зі своєю сім»єю, розглядаючи можливі варіанти зупинилась на готелі «Купала» так як готель пропонував Послуги спа, А також там можна скористатися сауною і басейном. По прибутті ніхто не попередив що нічого з перерахованих бонусів не працює, персонал був дуже недружелюбний. Ніхто не запропонував і не допоміг занести мої чемодани на 5 поверх готелю де немає ліфту. Кімнати виявились затишними, але розташування деяких диванчиків не давало можливості користуватись шухлядами, велике дзеркало на стіні будо повністю загороджене телевізором, центральний душ не працював, але можна було користуватися боковим який працював добре. Якщо переставити під свічники на скляних полицях то можна зрозуміти що прибиранням тут не дуже переймаються. За два дні перебування в готелі ніхто не поміняв рушники не говорячи вже про постіль. Єдине приємне враження в готелі «Купала» склав ресторан. Вас зустріне там привітний персонал, під скажуть що є новенького і смачного при виборі меню, всі страви дуже смачні і є широкий вибір , обслуга просто чудова.

Pokój wyglądał średnio w porównaniu do pięknych zdjęć na stronie. Basen raczej wielkosciowo dla dzieci do lat 5 a hotel żąda za użycie bardzo wysokich opłat. Blisko do centrum ale okolica hotelu niezbyt przyjemna.

Nie jest to hotel 4 gwiazdkowy, nie dla alergików!

Hotel położony 10 minut jazdy tramwajem nr 7 spod opery i 7 minut spacerem od przystanku tramwajowego, jednak warto wcześniej sprawdzić sobie w mapach google drogę bo łatwo zabłądzić. Po przyjściu witają nas przemiłe młode recepcjonistki. Zamówiony pokój z klimą i sejfem okazał się nie mieć tych udogodnień i nic nie dało się z tym zrobić. Pokój o ciężkim wystroju eklektycznym ( z tonami kurzu). Stolik się lepił - było na nim coś rozlane a pani sprzątająca nie zauważyła tego przez 4 kolejne dni. W łazience zestaw kosmetyków w ilości 1 fiolki szamponu 10ml i 1 fiolki mydła 10ml na osobę.... wystarczyło na umycie rąk. Ba, miało starczyć jak się potem okazało na 4 kolejne dni. Na szczęście w pobliżu przystanku są markety, gdzie można się zaopatrzyć. Sprzątania przez 4 dni nie było wcale, jedynie wymieniane ręczniki (przez 3 na 4 noce), raz nawet papieru nam nie dano. Obsługa niestety nie spisuje się. Śniadanie w godz.7-10, szwedzki stół, wybór niewielki jak ale b.smacznie. Kelner na 3 śniadania (z 4) proponował nam jajecznicę, do picia kawa lub herbata.Pomieszczenie śniadaniowe składa się jedynie z 3 stolików, więc albo trzeba czekać albo jeść na piętrze w ciemnej sali a'la gospoda. Wokół sztuczne kwiaty a na nich widoczna centymetrowa warstwa kurzu. Bardzo mili kelnerzy.Goście hotelu pochodzą z różnych stron Europy, podczas naszego pobytu w większości były to osoby starsze. Cisza i spokój. Restauracja podobno czynna 24h.O saunie nie powiem nic bo nie wiedziałam o jej istnieniu.

I left my wallet in the room upon check out, I placed it on a table and forgot to grab it after I put on my pants. I took a taxi down town and when I realized I had left it in the room I taxid back to retrieve the lost wallet. The staff told me the wallet filled with money wasn’t in the room and the lady who cleaned the room freaked out when she was asked if she came across it.

Szybki, dwudniowy pobyt. Informacja o odległości od dworca kolejowego nieprecyzyjna, lepiej więc wziąć taksówkę.Jeśli nastawić się na zwiedzanie, to okolica nieważna, a lokalizacja dobra, niedaleko do komunikacji miejskiej.Śniadania smaczne, obiady i trunki też. O basen nie pytaliśmy. Cena adekwatna do warunków. OK!

Najgorszy hotel

5 gwiazdek to żart - w pokojach brudno. Zniszczone klosze lamp i podarte skórzane kanapy wyglądają jak ze śmietnika. Obsługa każe czekać, bo je obiad! Pokój na piątym piętrze bez windy! I na deser basen o wymiarach 4x4 metry z mętną wodą! Absolutnie nie polecam!!!
