"Granted the location is not conducive to walking outside of the guarded perimeter, but inside you can stroll through the orchid gardens and admire the carefully groomed landscaping. "Started off badly with a failure by the hotel to pick me up at the Madang airport and then no-one at reception to answer the phone when I tried to let them know I was waiting. Eventually got a lift to the hotel with a local who took pity on me. Gate security is good at the hotel, but it's not located in a good part of town, so just stay inside the grounds unless you have a car. Check-in process was easy and staff were all friendly.
