Booking was efficient. Both gentlemen at the front desk were very good & provided excellent service. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant. Water temperature in the shower changed quickly & frequently during showers from scalding to cool & back again-hard to control even temperature throughout

The location is ccenter of Madrid, close to the City Hall. The Hostal is clean & quiet, if you drive, parking is very dificult, but they provide underground parking for 25€ per day.

Fantastic location for a nice little hostal

Last minute booking due to a scheduling problem caused by Lufthansa, so we managed this reasonably near Atocha train station for a good price. There are several other hostals in the building and lots of others along the street, plenty of great food in the area and lots of shopping. The room was nicely appointed, and a good private bathroom. We had a very short stay but this would be an excellent location for a longer visit to Madrid with the Prado, Parque del Retiro, and Puerta del Sol very nearby.

We had a great stay at Hostal Atocha Almudena Martín in Madrid. The location was absolutely perfect—right in the center of the city, within walking distance of major attractions like the Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor, and Retiro Park. It was also close to public transport, which made getting around incredibly easy. The hostal itself was clean, comfortable, and offered everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Our room was quiet and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. It was a simple setup, but thoughtfully arranged and very cozy. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything we needed. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Overall, Hostal Atocha Almudena Martín is a fantastic option for anyone looking to stay in central Madrid without breaking the budget. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return on our next trip to the city!

The taxi driver and I could not find the hostel. The sign next to the door has 3 different names and only 7 inches in size. Later found there was a sign but 40 feet up on top of building which is almost impossible to see. The rooms are bare, musty and smell s like smoke. No soap in the bathroom. Towels hard and starchy. Can't get in the front door with key. Stay if you are desparate.
