“We stayed at the Pilsley Inn for one night to see Chatsworth on our way to Manchester. The pub food and service were great. We had 2 meals (dinner and breakfast) and both service and food were really very good. Servers and staff were attentive and hospitable. The location is also excellent. “This is not a 4star hotel as described, it’s just a tired old pub that has some accommodation. The ‘deluxe’room that we had booked had stained carpets,sofa and cushions and was very basic. “Be aware that there is a £5 per night parking charge which, to be honest is just money making for the sake of it as no justification. Also best avoided for a family break due to every night we were there The outside tables were full of people drinking, being loud, foul mouthed and smoking. The first morning there was constant loud banging of doors for about 3 hours. The room was a decent size and reception staff were helpful when they are around. “A really great traditional inn, great food, brilliant atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The bonus of a private car park in Bakewell is a pearl beyond price, as parking, especially on market days is at a premium. I would have given the max stars had the room, which was OK had not been a little small ( it was named BAKEWELL). There you go.”

“Had a one night stay with children.Rooms were spacious we had 2 family rooms Linnen was clean and fresh.Bathroom was clean all beit a bit dated. The staff make this place great everyone was very helpful nothing was too much trouble.We had dinner and breakfast and we were all coeliac they had options for choice The price was very budget friendly. Great budget stay in good location”

“Very attractive exterior with colourful hanging baskets and tubs - clearly well looked after. Food was extremely good, both dinner and breakfast offered a fantastic choice. My single ensuite was small but perfectly fine with an efficient shower, tea/coffee facilities and TV, although internet was prone to buffering. Would certainly go back again.”
