Wonderful property right in the heart of the Stassi (definitely don’t stay in this area of Matera if you don’t like stairs!). The room itself was beautiful and one of the most unique and memorable stays of our trip. The breakfast had many delicious options. The staff were very welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We were in the junior suite with pool, the pictures don’t do it justice, a fantastic room with beautiful features and great amenities. All the staff were lovely and helpful, Martina in particular was fantastic helping us with ongoing transport and dinner recommendations. We had a wonderful stay, would highly recommend.

This is a charming small hotel in the fascinating city of Matera. Our room was a beautifully finished cave. The restaurant serves a wonderful dinner also and breakfast was better than most.

Fabulous cave hotel in Matera

A beautiful hotel built into a cave. We had a huge room with a spa bath which was an amazing way to relax and cool down after a day walking through the astonishing environs of Matera. Dinner in the hotel restaurant, sitting outside overlooking the gorge was lovely.
