Stay with beautiful mountains.
Panorama Retreat & Resort is located in the beautiful mountains, but my room was very small.
A truly peaceful and spacious retreat when there were no conference bookings.
Quiet and isolated but within reasonable range of towns and services.
Good Basic accommodation and friendly staff.
Lovely property and grounds. A bit dated, but the room was sufficient for our needs. Bed was hard and had two singles pushed together (to make a king). Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there but the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The location was delightful.
A shelf and a clothes hook or two in the bathroom would help a lot.
Amazing staff. Very friendly and accommodating. They are set up as a conference centre. No fridges in the rooms if you want to keep things cool. Beautiful grounds.
The surroundings were beautiful and great facilities . We loved that
The room itself was basic but good for the couple of nights we stayed. Could have had a fridge . Room was very cheap which was great
Bathroom extremely small and hard to move around in though .
We were disappointed that we weren’t able to pay for a buffet breakfast. We were told this by staff but saw this was available to other guests . A breakfast option may be something to look at for other guests not just big groups
Very pleasant. Friendly, immaculate, warm. Excellent value for money. Superb gardens, beautifully maintained. It was a one-off trip to see family visiting from the US but would love to see it in the early spring.
Only downside irrelevant - those of us from flat places found the mountain roads challenging.
Beautiful location, clean rooms, close to Olinda and Sassafras. Very handy for exploring the Dandenong Rangers. Staff are friendly. The communal lounge and Pool table were a great bonus.
Downfalls - no fridge or microwave in room.
We were also booked in the same night as a wedding party, so the after party took place in the rooms beside our's, as well as the courtyard beaide our window, so I was kept awake most of the night, which left me rather angry with a big day of driving and walking ahead of me.

Signage at entrance is poor as it has another name in large letters and then a small sign saying the panorama etc. very confusing. we drove past and then another km or so there was another sign that took us into the back. The setting is beautiful and quiet. lots of birdlife and rabbits. Dinner is very limited and served in lounge but understand there are other venues within driving distance. Rooms are clean, very small, no bar fridge. Staff are very friendly - polite and accommodating.

This property was quite nice with beautiful grounds and our cabin was very comfortable, but TBH it was dead. We were there for 1 night and barely saw another guest. There was no restaurant open, and when we came back after having dinner in town, the whole place was deserted. Then when we went back to our cabin, the TV reception was not great, which is fine normally, as most places have smart TVs, and you can just login to your own Netflix. But these were old TVs, and we couldn't even do that. So, with 2 teens with me, we didn't have a lot of options. For almost $400 a night, I was expecting more from it.
The customer service from staff was great and I cannot fault but a few things to note. On booking we weren’t notified that access was via a dirt road. The breakfast inclusion was disappointing with only cereal, toast and fruit, not hot food. We opted for twin beds and when we moved one we were horrified by the thick dust under the bed that had clearly not been cleaned for months, the shower door did not close and there was an awful smell coming from drain. Our handle on the door broke and locked us inside the room but thankfully staff acted quickly. Disappointed that there was not even a small fridge in the room to keep a bottle of water cold. Pool was a comfortable temperature but needed a really good clean and no lines marked on the tennis courts.

Not worth the price
We booked a superior double room and, for $206, expected much more.
The room was small, and the blind barely blocked out any light. In the bathroom, a sign stated the fan wasn’t installed, which led to foggy mirrors, and the lighting was poor. The mounted TV was very small, and there wasn’t even a fridge in the room—just a shared mini fridge in the dining area, which was already full. The bed was uncomfortable, the quilt was thin with only a light blanket, and the top of the cover was open right near our faces.
The dining area had a decent deck and a fully stocked bar, including a commercial coffee machine, but the bar was closed (Saturday). Our booking confirmation stated that reception closed at 6 pm, but at 3:20 pm, we received a text advising that it would close at 4 pm, with our key left in an envelope on the counter. When we arrived just after 4, another guest was confused about the process, and we helped him and directed him to his room as there were no staff members available.
The gardens and free water were the only positives, which is the only reason we’re giving 2 stars. Super disappointed—especially as the name suggests it’s a resort and retreat, which, in our view, it certainly wasn’t.
The property is isolated & far from the shops but very relaxed. We came from a wedding event & drove back in the dark thru the winding road but it was a pleasant drive.
You are in the heart of nature. Plenty of walking tracks. There's a water fall nearby.
The Dandenong Botanical Garden is also close by (drive).
We'll be coming back to this property time & again.
Highly recommended 👌
