Very noisy,hear everything from other rooms, we were told where to park and did so then somebody else parked in front of our room started reving his car at 6.30 in the morning, badly lit at night, we drove straight past it 10pm , definitely would not recommend it to anybody, our total bill was taken out in December without our knowledge.

Rooms were positioned so parking was just outside. Restaurant was outstanding good comfort food.Steak sandwich was a must

A great place to stay for a ski trip
The Inn was comfortable and clean. The staff were all very friendly and the food was excellent. It's a much cheaper alternative for skiing at Buller than staying on mountain. We'd definitely come back.

The photos listed in the booking website differed from the room given. It was supposed to be 1 room with 2 bunker beds, instead I given a "corridor" of 2 meters wide... two separate rooms split with a bathroom in between. Probably the worst "room" I've have ever had to stop in. I've mentioned it to management, but they said it is not their fault that photos are wrong in the listing (I believe this should be an issue for them to sort with booking company they employ) and likely the issue was that I didn't read the description clearly. Not the case. I'm one of those users that really read the description. The fact is we didn't enjoy our stay and the young kids struggled to sleep on their own in the separate room.

Nicholas The room you booked was a standard BUNK room. I am the Owner of the Business and have questioned all my Staff and no-one had any complaints from you. Had you not been happy with your room you could of come and seen us and we would have been pleased to accommodate you in a different style of room. We have 5 - 6 different configurations of rooms. I am not sure of which description you looked at but pictures show bathroom in between. Again if you actually talk to the Motel during your stay it could of been worked out before you had to leave a negative review. Thank You for your review

I got a room that smelled of mildew, was'nt properly ventilated with a small window, lacked power points (ie. you cannot have the electronic clock, bedside lights, or electric blanket working at the same time because there's only one point to share among these utilities). I did'nt sleep well that night. There was something unwelcoming about that Room 18.

I am sorry you found your stay a bad experience. We will endeavour to fix all problems you have mentioned. I do have to mention that the Bedside lamps have USB Ports built into them. Maybe next time you could talk to the Staff in the establishment that you stay in and they may be able to sort out problems you have instead of complaining after your stay. Thank You

Merrijig Motor Inn is a great place to stay in. The parking just at the front of the room is excellent. The hydronic heater is excellent too. The staff are very friendly.

Great gateway to the ski trip
We got upgraded to bigger family room, it is very nice in size with brand new bath room. The on site dinning and equipment hiring is so convenient, very happy about it.

People from next door, talked...more people went in...some out...in again... from 9:30pm till to next day morning 1 or 2am! They sounded like just outside our window! What a night!

Staff very courteous and helpful. They offered to upgrade to a larger room for our family. Very clean and tidy. Children loved the rabbits and birds near the play area.

Really enjoyed the night! I would like to spend longer there next time - room was spotless and the staff were super friendly! Highly recommend the bar for dinner and drinks as well - great views out the room too. Perfect end to the weekend!

Great base for bushwalking or skiing. Rooms have all that you need without any bells and whistles. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant served great homely meals and the bar extensive. We considered going into Mansfield for dinner but had a fun night having dinner and drinks by the open fire and playing some competitive fusball!

The service was excellent however the room was run down as were the facilities. Tiles were falling off in the bathroom and in the pool. The room hadn’t been serviced properly with the soap dispenser empty and an almost empty toilet paper. The was no air conditioning and the pedestal fan provided didn’t work. Once the staff were notified they replaced it immediately.

The motor inn is in a good location (we stayed to go to the snow), easy to access with large signage so you can’t miss it. Very short drive the rest of the way up the mountain, but it would be a lovely spot year round. The rooms are basic but comfortable and have everything you need. It was quiet and the staff were very friendly/ helpful. The menu at the restaurant is reasonably priced and my partner enjoyed his cooked breakfast. (I just had toast which was also nice). Ski hire was also great, the gear was well maintained and they set you up with everything you need. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay, the place has a beautiful cosy mountain charm to it, the staff were amazing and so friendly, the food was fantastic. A day after getting home the kids were saying what a great holiday they had which says it all. Would definitely stay here again.

Convenient for the high counrty and skiing. Onsite restaurant, chain hire , ski and boarding hire, good food friendly helpful staff and owner. Plenty of hot water.

Great breakfast easy check in and out, great location for heading to Mt Buller, only issue was parking was not available near room had to carry luggage 50m

If you had come and let us know we could of helped by moving some of the cars so you could fit in your designated parking space. Sorry for any inconvenience

Although the sheets on the beds were clean the doonas smelled of urine and one of them smelled like it’s been hanging in the kitchen. The beds are smaller than single and there are no rails on the upper bunk beds. The hotel was more than accommodating to change out booking to an additional person so the service itself was good but definitely dropped standard since last year.

Hello Nick Thank You for your review. I am so sorry you had problems with your stay this time. We carry spares of all sizes of quilts so if you had come to us we would of swapped over any items you had problems with. All our linen and bedding are cleaned so I am not sure why items smelt. Happy to talk over any problems with you personally. We feel our standard has not changed from last year.

The Merrijig is very affordable, although it's not 5 stars, it is far better than what I expected for the price. The staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The shower is very hot with great pressure, perfect after a day skiing on the mountain.
