Cocoa Boutique Hotel has a lot going for it, especially its exceptional staff. A special thank you to Josephine, the receptionist/supervisor, who truly stood out. She is gentle, pleasant, and an excellent problem solver who immediately puts guests at ease. Josephine demonstrates true leadership skills (and the outlook of a professional). The made to order breakfast was also well-received. Yummy!
Our initial room had a few minor issues that would have affected our overall enjoyment. However, the situation was handled quickly and fairly—Josephine and the General Manager offered us an upgraded room that exceeded our expectations. Much appreciation as well to Joshua, who handled our luggage with great care.
The new room was absolutely exquisite.
That said, the hotel itself is showing its age and could benefit from some repairs. Many pieces of furniture are quite worn. Still, the property has tremendous potential. I especially loved all the breezy, comfortable areas to sit and relax. The ocean-view balconies are a highlight—one evening, I even spotted a camel walking along the beach from our balcony, which was a fun and memorable surprise. The beach itself has a lot of seaweeds but there were still good swimming spots.
Overall, this hotel is a hidden gem. With a little TLC, it could easily be restored to its former glory.
