This is a one of a kind stay! If you are visiting monemvasia, you should be sure to stay on the island inside the fortress. We loved our time here! Great hiking up to the church on top of the hill, beautiful views, such a unique little community. We loved our stay!
Super location on the island! The room was very nice and a bottle of wine was left for us. The host was fabulous. He went out of his way to help us with the wi-fi, directions, and other items. Definitely recommend this lodging.
Great hotel near the central town where many of the shops and restaurants are located. The hotel serves a nice little breakfast buffet to start your day. Voula, the proprietor of the hotel is just delightful.
Location, Location, Location! It is a step backwards in time, but with current day amenities. Breakfast was great, Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. Views were incredible. Exploring the lower town maze was fun! Restaurants were plentiful. Biggest regret, we did mot plan enough time to explore the upper level of town. One of the highlights of our trip!
Love the location and main bedroom. Breakfast was great. Staff was excellent. Due to the restrictions the government places on restoring ancient structures the bathroom was tiny, and you couldn’t stand to take a shower. Negative that isn’t their fault due to restoring restrictions. Other than that, very nice place to stay at.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Monemvasia is a wonderful place to visit but be aware that getting around involves a lot of steps and the old stone flooring in the village can be slippy even when dry.
Staff at the hotel were kind and friendly. Hotel itself is a little tired and bathroom is absolutely tiny.
This is a very unique medieval castle and the rooms we stayed in were full of amazing character, beautiful architecture and stylish furniture. The staff were amazing, so warm and welcoming, I could not rate them more highly. They went out of their way to care for us. The breakfast every morning was fantastic, just about everything you could want was there and delicious. The rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for luggage. A very enjoyable experience.
If you are coming to Monemvasia you should really stay within the castle walls to get the full experience. The hotel is towards the east end of the castle but a very easy walk (5 mins) through the lower town. Like all hotels inside the castle, it is really a cluster of separate houses made into hotel rooms and the room was spacious, beds comfortable with great sea views and nice antique furniture. Most of all as it's at the end of town it's very quiet. I would definitely recommend it
A place full of character in an amazing town The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, breakfast was good with friendly service from the cheerful Romanian gentleman(sorry never got your name)
Only slight negatives from me are that it would be nice to have kettle and the shower head had to be hand held.
Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.
The experience of staying within walls is something else. Monemvasia has managed to capture and maintain the feel of an ancient fortification while giving one the comforts of modern civilization (indoor plumbing!)
The Likinia Hotel is well located, about a 5 minute walk away from the main street and sufficiently separated. At times you even have the feeling that you have the whole fortress to yourself.
Since the family room was the last available option, we had an entire apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to ourselves. The rooms were very clean and spacious, especially for just two individuals. We recommend booking well in advance or checking with the hotel directly so that you can get an appropriately sized room and allow more people to experience the place :)
The staff were kind and even helped with our bag up the final winding route to the room. The breakfast was a smaller spread but comprised of very high quality food in our opinion. The complimentary bottle of wine for the stay (a regional variety) was also a nice touch.
The view from the room was also quite nice and we could look out onto the sea over the tops of other buildings. It was a really nice experience.
We would recommend the hotel for it's location and will consider going back if we visit Monemvasia again.
The hotel is situated within the walls of Monemvasia with easy access to the main square. It is a beautiful island and the hotel is impeccably clean and comfortable. It has been very well planned, in that everyone has a little outdoor seating area, which we really enjoyed in the evenings, when the crowds had left the island.
Breakfasts were superb and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Rooms were well furnished and a fridge was provided. Bathrooms were small, but immaculately clean and fitted with marble.
Monemvasia is a wonderful place to stay. We would recommend the hotel in a heartbeat and hope to return in the future.
The property is in a good position. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff ready to assist you. The bathroom was very smal, but the overall room size is large and bed comfortable, cooling was also excellent. The ocean view is largely obstructed so we didn't consider it an ocean view and the bathroom we got is different to the one advertised with a glass panel. We didn't like the shower curtain resting against the toilet.

Nice medieval castle setting.
Getting around the property and surrounding area was tough due to uneven cobblestone streets and steps, as well as poor lighting at night.
Confusing maze like medieval town streets made it tough to find your way around. Difficultly of parking situation under stated . Leave the car at the bottom of the hill and take the bus or a taxi. Staff helped with getting our stuff back to the castle gate.
Room had wonderful medieval vaulted wood ceiling, but was a bit quirky in its layout.
If you want the medieval castle / town experience, this could be for you. If you want easy access and all the modern conveniences, probably not.
