Grand Hotel & La Pace - go & enjoy.

If you are looking for ultra-speed wifi, arctic aircon, kids groups & new-build renovation standards, then don't make the choice to stay here - you will not enjoy the experience, go to a radisson instead. We found the hotel to be an elegant reminder of when quality, courtesy, tradition, respect & harmony were valued as highly as convenience, utility & lowest common denominator are now. The staff are wonderful & helpful, each & every one of them. The backdrop of the communal areas are jaw-dropping in their beauty. Our room was a fantastic space, filled with the most tasteful furniture. The whole building has lived a life & it is a very tasteful one. We loved it, would return in an instant & already miss it, one day after leaving.

Preis Leistung ist i. O., Sauberkeit des Außenbereich hat noch gut Luft nach oben. Unser Ansprechpartner am Empfang, ein älterer Herr, war super. Es gab aber leider auch anderes Personal ( Barbereich ), dort war der Service Gedanke leider nicht sehr stark ausgeprägt.

Hotel was mooi maar sterk aan een renovatie toe! Muren beschimmeld en de stukken stucwerk vielen van het plafond. Het zwembad is inmiddels van een andere eigenaar. Er komen veel mensen van buiten het hotel om in het zwembad te zwemmen.Er worden bedjes gereserveerd voor deze mensen door het personeel al vroeg in de ochtend. Mensen die in het hotel verblijven hebben hierdoor soms geen bedje aan het zwembad!Dronken personeel bij de bar aan het zwembad! Iedere avond tot middernacht enorme herrie van muziek aan het zwembad!

Ein schöner Palazzo, der aber leider wie das Mobiliar sehr in die Jahre gekommen ist. Zudem könnten Teppiche und Läufer mal eine Reinigung gebrauchen. Man fühlt sich ein wenig wie in einem Museum. Das Personal ist freundlich, aber es wirkt unausgebildet und nicht besonders bemüht. Dies wäre an sich alles nicht schlimm, wenn es nicht ein 5 Sterne Hotel mit entsprechendem Preis wäre! Für Pooltücher muss man 3,-€ extra bezahlen und um kurz vor 18 Uhr wird man freundlich aber bestimmt gebeten jetzt zu gehen. Das haben wir noch nie erlebt. Als wir gesehen haben, dass der „Salvatore“ dann noch in den zu beaufsichtigten Pool spuckt, ist uns das Interesse am schwimmen eh vergangen. Das wirklich Gute am Hotel ist die zentrale Lage direkt im Ort.

Goede lokatie maar geen 5 sterren

We hadden een geschakelde familiekamer ergens achterin het gebouw. De kamers zijn extreem gehorig. Geen balkon en je kijkt uit op het plein. Behoorlijk gehorig dus. Badkamers zijn uitstekend en vrij nieuw. Slaapkamers zijn oudbollig en achterhaald. Hier kan beter mee omgegaan worden. Uutstekende service bij de balie. Vriendelijk personeel en altijd willen helpen. Dit was gewoon goed. Zwembad hoort bij het hotel alleen zijn het andere eigenaren. Dus niet alleen hotelgasten mkgen gebruik maken van het zwembad maar ook lokale bewoners en/of vrienden en vriendinnen van de eigenaren. Het zat behoorlijk snel vol dus hadden hotelgasten geen plek. Lokatie van hotel is top, midden in centrum. Overal is het een wat oudbollig hotel met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Dat is ook de enige 5 sterren. Hotel denk ik op dit moment 4 sterren maar kan echt een 5 sterren worden.

Very bad! Bad service, everyone was stressed. To many guest to handle for the Hotel. Strange smell in the room, dirty carpets everywhere. The breakfast was a disaster! Would never go back unfortunately.

Ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles, mérite une rénovation complète. Propre et personnel très sympathique mais la douche c'est juste horrible il n'y a pas de pression et pour régler la température c'est catastrophique. Pour ceux qui cherchent le repos le soir c'est à oublier car musique à fond la nuit à la piscine Petit déjeuner convenable et salle magnifique par contre Parking sur place

Un séjour très décevant !! Nous arrivons à l’hôtel, Check-in semble ok. Nous arrivons dans la chambre, nous souhaitons doucher notre fille de 18 mois, mais pas d’eau chaude !! Nous descendons à la réception, on nous répond pas de problème je vous envoie quelqu’un. 30 minutes plus tard toujours rien, noys redescendons en route nous croisons des clients qui nous expliquent qu’il n’y a plus d’eau chaude dans l’hôtel depuis le matin !! Retour à la réception, un autre employé nous dit oui nous sommes au courant c est général à l’hôtel depuis ce matin 9 heures. Aucune solution trouvée ! Douche à l’eau froide. Le lendemain nous demandons à parler au manager car vraiment le personnel n’a été ni compréhensif ni compétent, ils nous ont donné les clefs de la chambre en sachant qu’il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude. Le manager lui est très compréhensif et professionnel et me propose de me rembourser le prix de la nuit, je suis très agréablement surpris et satisfait de son geste commercial. Un mois après , je reçois un mail me disant qu’Il n’y aura aucun remboursement, je suis très déçu de cet hôtel ainsi que de son personnel ! De plus la propreté laisse a désirer !!

Old world grandeur, but a bit tired

This is a very old-school hotel that has almost certainly seen better days, but maintains a sort of old world grandeur that I quite liked. The rooms are huge and the service is good, but I'm not sure that it really merits "5 stars" if you compare to other hotels of that description. It is worth noting that most of the grand hotels in Montecatini Terme seem to be in similar condition.

Hotel in zentraler Lage mit eigenem Parkplatz

Wir reservierten für 5 Nächte eine Juniorsuite mit der Bitte um ein im Stil eingerichtetes Zimmer. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir auf eine Seniorsuite im 2.Stock upgegradet, welches uns sehr gefreut hat! Unser ersten Eindruck war durchaus erfreulich, doch nach 2 schlaflosen Nächten (Von der nahen Strasse mit diversen Nachtbars, Heizung mittels Klimagerät mit diversen Geräuschen, neben dem Bett, Bad ohne Heizung, Duschvorhang in der Badewanne) mit einem Wort in keiner Weise einem 5 Sterne Standard entsprechend, wechselten wir das Zimmer und bekamen im 1.Stock in einem anderen Trakt eine Suite mit riesiger Terrasse und grossem Badezimmer, hier konnte man selbst mittels Klimaanlage die Temperatur regulieren, wie es üblich ist! Sonst ist das Hotel absolut stilvoll ausgestattet

L’hotel è in una posizione molto centrale e offre anche un pass per la zona ZTL (se lo avessi saputo prima non avrei fatto il giro di tutto il paese per non prendere la multa) Anche se era compreso nel prezzo non ho potuto usufruire della entrata all’area benessere perché non avevamo prenotato (se lo avessi saputo prima avrei prenotato prima di partire) La stanza era molto grande e bella ma il bagno è stato una delusione. Non funzionava bene e secondo me da rifare completamente perché datato.

The staff was generally very helpful and the location was very central. Unfortunately, the hotel is very dated and needs an update (think Grand Budapest Hotel). Three of the four lights in the hallway to our room were not working and took two days to get fixed. Several lights in our room were not working, although this wasn't an issue as there was still plenty of light. Rooms were clean and comfortable though. Limited selection for breakfast. No English TV channels.

The hotel is a very beautiful building with lots of character. The property holds a lot of promise. But the facility itself needs a lot of work. no way is this a five-star hotel. Although the check-in service was excellent, for a 5-star hotel it falls flat. The bathroom facilities were mediocre at best. The swimming pool required cleaning. The huge Whirlpool tub required cleaning . the hotel does not even offer coffee or tea in the rooms or water. More money is required to bring this place up to Snuff and it can be done. But right now I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Wondeful hotel from another time

Grand Hotel & la Pace er en perle. En duft af den gsmle verlden. Helt bevaret. Alt i original og tilpas slidt for st give den helt rigtige følelse af at kikke ind i en anden tid. Helt fantastisk hvis msn kan lide historie og ikke er bange for lit afskallet maling på den charmerende måde.

Disappointment.

A hotel that has been once been outstanding, many years ago. Beautiful architecture and general grandness, but very very dilapidated. To many details in the hotel are just not of the quality to be expected. Service does not match its 5-star status. Airconditioning was broken, took management 5 days to fix it, although rooms were +30 degrees Celcius. Breakfast uninspired. Spa and pool was nice. The hotel needs a makeover, facilities might be 5-star, but the experience was a 3-star at best.

Dejligt sted med pool og tæt på by. Pool var nogen dage lidt overfyldt med lidt for meget larm

Schönes, altes Haus, aber technisch nicht auf dem Stand, Buchung wurde wegen Nicht-im-Voraus-Abrechenbarkeit über Kreditkarte am Tag vor Anreise vom Hotel offenbar storniert (bei Buchung mehr als 3 Monate im Voraus hätte man das ja auch mal früher versuchen können!), es wurde offenbar am Tag vor unserer Anreise versucht, Kontakt mit mir aufzunehmen, wohlgemerkt waren wir da bereits 4 Tage im Urlaub in Italien unterwegs, und wer liest schon im Urlaub seine e-mails oder nimmt das bei der Arbeit verwendete (und bei der Buchung 3 Monate früher wegen der dort darüber gegebenen Erreichbarkeit natürlich angegebene) Mobiltelefon mit? Nach Ankunft dann Verwunderung, daß man obwohl man ja garnicht abgesagt hat doch erscheint, wo doch die Vorausabrechnung über Kreditkarte nicht funktioniert hat... es wird dann eine Notlösung angeboten, eine Suite, die nur durch den Spa-Bereich erreicht werden kann, dafür etwas günstiger im Preis. Allerdings gelingt es dann auch in drei Versuchen nicht, den Strom für diese Suite dauerhaft einzuschalten, jedesmal, wenn der Kühlschrank startet, fliegt die Sicherung wieder raus, der Techniker kann erst (zu diesem Zeitpunkt ist es 15:00Uhr) am nächsten Tag. Es sind dann "überraschend" doch 2 Doppelzimmer frei, immerhin wird nicht versucht, den Differenzbetrag zur natürlich bei Ankunft im Voraus mit der Kreditkarte jetzt bereits bezahlten Suite jetzt doch noch abzurechnen... Also Umzug in die beiden aufgetauchten Zimmer, dort funktioniert eine Nachttischleuch

This is an opulent palatial hotel with a large pool. The common areas are magnificent. Service extremely friendly for such a grand hotel — we were bicycle touring with high-end bikes which they put in a locked room. The breakfast was way above average.
