"The property is extremely misleading! We were looking for a hotel space that could accommodate six adults… and we paid over $900 a night (which didn’t include breakfast) to this hotel as one of the few that said it could accommodate us, however they crammed us into a room like sardines. And then there was no living space, just beds. The photos posted online made it look like we were renting an apartment, but after 15 mins in the room we were trying to find another room.
There was also only one TV in one room, limited garage cans and the gym was a disaster with two run down machines and one broken treadmill.
The staff was friendly but I feel mislead and was very disappointed. "
"A place to stay,
Where you feel welcomed, safe, and surrounded by a beautiful nature. The owners surprised us for my partner's birthday. Thank you so much (if you're reading this note).
Breakfast placed everyday in our fridge. Good quantity/quality. Special mention to the washing machine, if your are staying more than 4days, it's a plus. "
"Smaller resort, which was actually nice b/c it is more relaxing. Gorgeous pool area. We stayed in an over-water bungalow, which was spacious and lovely. The only complaint I would say is it would have been nice to have a chair. Like just a regular chair to sit in. There wasn't one in the room or on the deck (only lounge chairs). Got a free bottle of sparkling wine delivered to our room, which was a nice surprise.
Food was outrageously expensive, which I expected, but what I did not expect is that every meal we had there was terrible. I mean borderline inedible bad. It was either unappetizing or completely flavorless. Breakfast was $50 for the buffet and it was limited and not good. I was going to try the pizza until I saw someone put their room service tray outside their bungalow with only one piece gone from 2 whole pizzas! So, it must have been bad. Drinks were fine.
We ended up eating at the restaurant across the street from the resort one night and it was fantastic. Highly recommend that (Manuia Grill). "Town" is about a 5 min walk and there are some nice shops there and some additional restaurants. There is a breakfast/lunch place that I would definitely recommend over spending $50pp at the resort.
Having some shops and restaurants walking distance was a nice bonus as some resorts you are basically captive b/c there is no place to go without a car/taxi.
I would definitely stay here again, I just wouldn't eat at the resort."
"We had a garden view with just a peek at the beach. Beach was a short walk, with excellent snorkeling. Rooms are sparse but efficient. The capper is washer and dryer in the room. We made use of both several times. No amenities on site, but there are many places to eat and shop just a short drive away. It would be challenging if you didn't have a car. "
"Small newer bungalows with an eager staff to please. Very quiet property. Kitchens in rooms so you can shop and make your breakfast at least. A little pricey ( but So is everything in FP) on the breakfast that you can pay for. Very quiet area of the island. Maybe I've been spoiled around the world but the reef on Moorea is not the greatest for snorkeling"
"Location and beauty of the property is excellent. Food and beverage were way below Hilton standard. Property is in need of updating. Fabulous snorkeling."
"Our stay at Hotel Kaveka was made truly exceptional by the people, especially the front desk. We were so fortunate to be helped by Moa, who was a total wealth of knowledge. Instead of the usual tourist scripts, she gave us genuine, localized tips and clever hints that completely transformed our time on the island.
The hotel itself is charming, with that authentic Polynesian feel you just can’t find at the big resorts, and the over-water dining view of Cook’s Bay is unbeatable. But it was the warm hospitality—and Moa’s expert guidance—that made this feel like a home rather than just a room. If you want a stay that combines a perfect location with a team that truly cares about your experience, this is it"
