"Decent stay over all. Room service and gym facilities great. Rooms need updating and a thorough deep clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking very convenient however quite over priced. Very good location"
"I was there for a wedding and it went without a hitch parking at venue was great right in front of front doors. My only disappointment was our room 115 from the minute we got in it just smelt of drains and as the time went on it got worse to the point it was making us feel sick. We never complained because of wedding party but as we were leaving a few more couples mentioned the smell next door to ours and across from us. I hope this is a one off because it definitely brings the tone of a beautiful hotel down."
"very tired hotel - they are currently doing works in the lobby which looks to be a lick of paint and tiling. the rooms are really tired though, with no temperature control and no ability to open windows - cue awful night's sleep due to the room being very stuffy.
can tell it was once a lovely hotel with good amenities when it was built, but everything is very shabby now and the new Radisson around the corner shows it up"
"All the staff we chatted with were very friendly and helpful .The food was of a good quality and generous portions .Breakfast was also plentiful in quality too "
"Only stayed one night. Room was very basic but reasonably clean and tidy. Reception area leaves a lot to be desired as does the actual location of the hotel. I didn't feel particularly safe on my solo walk back to the hotel late in the evening. "
"Our stay was OK. The surrounding area is noisey late into the night. We were placed in the basement, and initially our second room smelled of smoking and not great. The fantastic staff were understanding and did move us with no problems.
Parking is a bit of an annoyance. We had to park a short walk away. The suggestion was that the hotel had a beneficial rate (it doesn’t). It is the same as if you just pulled up. There is a car park that is closer (the NCP) and marginally cheaper (save a £1 overnight).
Overall - we will probably look elsewhere next time. "
