"The room was immaculate. Check-in took a little while- the desk staff was having frustration with computer issues so we had to wait about 10 minutes. The room was very quiet and comfortable, so the wait was alright."

"The host was excellent. Breakfast was handy. Location was perfect (was able to see an early morning eruption- 5 minutes to the park!) Room was large and comfortable. Lots of resources and books on site. Fridge for lunch/food and kitchen to cook if needed (reasonably stocked). Volcano is colder than Hilo - bring a jacket/sweater. Close to all the little local (delicious) restaurants. Volcano Forest Inn has seen better days. Place really need a deep clean and fresh paint in a few places. Hard to...

"Property could do with a good renovation but prob one of the best in Hilo. It’s tight next to an abandoned hotel and homeless/ rough sleepers are all over the place. We chose to self park our rental which was offsite in a sketchy gravel parking lot. This was not attended and had heaps of pot holes. There were also a lot of homeless people sleeping in their car. In saying all that. The staff were amazing and accommodating with any and all requests we had. Very friendly all of them just let down...
