“This wonderful older building became a hotel in 1900, which might have been the occasion of the last renovation. Today, faded glory is probably the best description. I stayed in Room 1, a room that should not be used for guest accommodation. It looks onto a square but, perhaps for preservation reasons, there is no attempt a sound mitigation at all. Similarly, all the noise from the lobby, bar area arrives unfiltered into Room 1, which on a Friday night continued into the wee, small hours.”

“Personalen var vänlig, men någon kunde ingen engelska alls. Nätverket fungerade väldigt bra. "Pentrydelen" i rummet var en vattenvärmare. Färgen flagade i rummet. Det var kallt när vi kom och dörren stod öppen ut mot gården för att vädra ut doften av rengöringsmedel. Vi startade värme genom luftkonditioneringsaggregatet, Efter 2 timmar slutade vi frysa. Det var vid tiden strax över noll grader nattetid. Värmen stängdes av i samband med rumsservicen och fick startas på nytt när vi återkom....

There was not much staff on the premises and we had just arrived from a Relais & Chateau which was pretty much the same price so in comparison this destination was lacking BUT if you are going to Monsaraz and want to relax after your day of visiting I would still highly recommend since nothing in the area is comparable and the place is very beautiful and enjoyable!”

When we checked in no one was around to greet us so we had to walk down to the kichen area to find someone The room was very small but nicely decorated. TV had no English channels available - BBC did not work. Bathroom was poor w a shower curtain that let water come out. No lotion and cheap shower gel. Just a few euros would make it special Breakfast is Spanish w toast but no pastries but a lot of cakes available. Fruit ran out...
