"First of all, ALL of Lima is loud and dirty so expect some kind of a reflection of that fact in any budget hotel in Lima. It is part of the experience. That given and compared to EVERY other hotel I identified in Lima on Expedia or on foot Hotel Maxys Grau was the best value for the cost. "Hotel is literally on the doorstep of bustling Historic center of Lima. If you are looking for quiet stay, this is not the hotel for you. Think downtown NYC level traffic noise with something always happening. Great location from which to explore - walk right out the hotel to explore museums, parks and grab a bite to eat. We arrived early AM, spent the day exploring and left the next morning to fly onto Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, and it worked out perfectly for us to recharge from long flight and start or Peru trip. If the noise of the traffic will bother you, maybe ask for a room on the backside of the hotel - Lima doesn't have any subways etc so ALL the traffic from this massive city is on the road and it sounded like most of it was right outside the hotel hehe. Still loved it!"
