“From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us with warm smiles and salutations, and throughout our stay it remained the same. Alan and his wife (the chef), Ariel, Alan’s brother and Andre and Patricia ( another chef) provided us with a rich history of the area and delicious meals. We slept like babies each night in the spacious lodging provided for us. The mountaintop views are breathtaking and taking a dip in the private waterfall was so refreshing! We totally enjoyed our stay!”

“The view at this hotel is amazing, but the hotel has fallen into disrepair. We almost never had hot water, which they seemed to be able to remedy after our complaining but then it would go out again. The pool swim up bar was never open or operating during our stay. There was a smaller pool with jets that looked like a hot tub but it wasn’t hot or operational. The quality of the bedding and furnishings was budget hotel level. “This is a cute little property off the beaten path. Lots of tico places to eat in the area but you need a car. We don’t recommend the seafood place across the highway though. Breakfast was amazing, especially the homemade bread and condiments. The laminated note in the room about not getting sand in the beach towels was a little odd!”

“This was our second stay with Ms. Diana at Clandestino. We love her and the peaceful retreat she has created. My kids are 17 and 9, and they love everything about Clandestino. The pool is amazing. We especially enjoy all Ms. Diana’s adopted furr-babies, including Pippa the raccoon. Everything there is done with love. Cannot wait to return! 💚🌴”

“The grounds are beautiful and the facility was clean and well-kept. Staff members were pleasant. We would actually consider staying there in a different room but the white cabin with the thatched roof was awkward and uncomfortable to the point that we left after one night even though we knew we wouldn't get a refund. You can tell from the photos that some of the description is inaccurate (It's just one bedroom and doesn't have a private pool though there is one pool for all guests to share.) but...
