"The hotel itself was great, however check in wasn’t such a pleasant experience. My wife, son and I arrived at the hotel in the evening. We entered the lobby where there were already several people waiting in line to check in. The front desk employee seemed dazed and confused. He claimed his computers were acting up. Several times while we were waiting he stumbled and seemed to be nodding off. It appeared he was on some sort of substance. We finally left and went for dinner. When we came back over an hour later no one was at the front desk. I heard shuffling around the corner and when I went to see what was going on I found the same employee in the hallway slumped over. I approached and asked if he was ok, he the. Jolted up and went back to the front desk. Overall it took well past 7:30 to finally get our keys. The rest of our stay was great, but it definitely wasn’t the way we had hoped to start."

"Staff was nice and friendly . Allowed for early check in . Room for price was decent /good in size however cleanliness was not met. Could not walk barefoot could tell no wiping sweeping vacuuming or mopping none of the above was done floor was very filthy tables were sticky and couches were full of dirt/food also outside furniture has spiderwebs all throughout it- as far as cleaning you can tell only bed was made and fresh towels. Unfortunately there’s no soundproof walls could here everything from all neighbors also had a drunk lady knocking our door down throughout the night and needed to call night security. "

"Hotel Sylvia is a themed experience. It pays homage to Sylvia Beach, who owned a bookstore in Paris at the start of the 20 century and knew luminaries such as Hemingway and James Joyce. Each room is either a literary genre or author. Our room was very pretty and stylish, But there was not enough space for our things and surfaces to put things on. The side of the bed was too crowded by the wall and made getting in and out difficult. We ate breakfast at the restaurant. It had a great view but the food was pedestrian— it tasted good, but predictable. The location right on the beach and the history of the building was stellar."

"Alex, who was the hotel reservation desk staff was excellent. He made sure we had everything we needed. Some of the inside areas could’ve been dusted a little better, but otherwise we had a good stay."

"Enjoyed our weekend getaway to the coast. Hotel is located one street away from the beach, good restaurants and food spot near by. Staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was filling. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Would choose Comfort Inn over Quality Inn."
