"Gare 55 is amazing. It is situated in a renovated train station and the facilities are absolutely top notch. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is a kitchen that we were able to use and there are prepared meals available in the freezer. We are looking for a reason to revisit the area as we would love to stay at Gare 55 again."

"Overall, adequate for one night. A short drive to central Gent. Free parking and breakfast included. Breakfast was lovely. Room was big enough for 3 of us, clean, no a/c but had a fan which was fine. No lift in this 3 story hotel."

"First thing they say is you will pay more than your reservation. You pay more city tax than you should. You pay for parking. If you want to have a bathroom, you pay more. There is free drinking water in the lobby though. Building is very old and not well maintained. Really steep stairs to the first floor.
