"We loved our stay here, having the separate villas was great for the mix of families. Great pool and amenities in each villa. Poo, the house keeper was sensational! "We stayed here for 5 nights and had a really great stay, we were a bit nervous after reading some reviews about noise level, but it was pretty quiet for the most part but YMMV.
The A/C unit took a bit to get to the sweet spot and the building was a bit dinged up in spots, but the staff even with limited English was very sweet and accommodating.
If location and price are two of the big checkmarks for you than I think Salty Sand is a good choice. If potential noise and partying isn’t for you...

"Clean room with AC and mini-fridge. Two water bottles provided daily. Very kind front desk staff. They let us store luggage after check out! Breakfast every day for $1 extra a day. Breakfast included mango yogurt parfaits, thai curry with rice and fried eggs. Massage parlor next door, didn’t go because it was a bit pricy. But there is a 7-11 about 7 minute walk and night market about 8 minute walk. Lots of restaurants and roti a few minutes away. I would definitely stay here again!! "

"A great family hotel choice. The location is excellent - there’s a long tail boat station just opposite for easy access to Railay. The night market is a short walk away and there are great restaurants and cafes close by. The swimming pool is great for kids. Our room (family suite) was huge, very clean and the children were very happy with the free drinks and snacks included. It’s not a luxurious hotel, but we were very happy with our choice. "
