North Dorset District, England hotel rooms at the Independent

"A traditional period hotel with charming features, a nice atmosphere and spacious character bedrooms. Good range of food on the menu although would have liked more dairy free options for our daughter. Good complimentary toiletries and the fans in our rooms were a perfect addition in the warm weather. Helpful and friendly staff and a big/free car park. A little noisy where we were at around 730-8am, due to cleaning/food trollies. "

"Nice hotel / pub close to Blandford town! Everything was perfect in the room with a mini fridge with milk, water, kettle etc for us. It was very clean, tidy, safe and very friendly whilst staying there. Only downside is it is a bit out dated need to replace the mattress as it was very old. "

"The family room was perfect. Dinner in the evening was lovely staff are friendly and attentive. breakfast in the morning it’s lovely and plenty of it."

"We stayed here for our anniversary. We booked a garden suite where we could park outside and had a little court yard area with chairs to enjoy the summer sun. we had access to the gym and pool, steam room and sauna which was a lovely way to end our day. The staff were helpful and happy to help when we had any questions. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we were in the area "

"I was looking for a quiet place to stop for one night, to break up a long trip back to Wales and could not have found the most perfect place. The guest house is beautiful, the location was peaceful and quiet and the warm welcome from Justin was so nice after a very long day. My room was lovely, very clean, complimentary fresh milk and a bottled water in the small fridge, plus tea/coffee. Justin was a lovely host, made even more so by the fact that he is motorcycle mad, like myself, so the conversation when arriving and at breakfast was just perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend Manston Guest House, it's truly a little hidden gem."

"We stayed in Helena, it was very clean and well equipped. Concern about escape routes in the event of a fire. Some rooms didn’t have a large enough window to get out of. Swimming pool great, as was the hot tub. Lovely setting near Blandford. Would recommend getting shopping delivered as quite remote. "
