“Room was lovely, we didn't arrive in time for dinner unfortunately as the kitchen closed at 9pm on the Saturday. There was only a hand towel in the bathroom rather than any towels to be able to use the shower/ bath. Slightly noisy up the stairs from the pub which is open until 11pm (not a complaint, just for awareness). Breakfast was lovely and great views”

“The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. Whilst the bed linen was clean the base was full of stains and filthy. On a positive note the...

“We booked the Fortune Hotel to use as a base whilst we were attending a wedding near Halifax. The hotel is in an ideal location just off the M62. In fact the motorway runs right alongside the hotel however don't let that put you off because you wouldn't know due to the excellent job they have done at the hotel to eradicate the noise. The staff are some of the friendliest we have encountered and they couldn't do enough for us. They are a credit to the hotel. Our room was clean, tidy and contained...

“Everything about our stay was very good. Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Large bath with very hot water . Kettle with tea, coffee , biscuits etc , hairdryer and iron. Dinner was good and the breakfasts were freshly prepared. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar and the prices were very reasonable. Staff Lovely and friendly, will certainly think of returning. ”

“First time at this place..stayed for three nights . Rooms wlare extremely clean and the staff are what makes this place..really friendly and professional. Breakfast is also excellent. Highly recommend as a short stop over”

“Public areas and services were good but there was a wedding reception the first night of our stay so the music was loud and intrusive whilst we were having a drink in the bar area. Customer service and food were good. We were not impressed with our Superior room. Both the room and the bathroom were small, particularly the bathroom. The position of the heated towel rail meant it was very difficult to reach. The wardrobe wooden sliding doors were heavy and very difficult to move.”

“Dated dirty and drab. Cracked basin and toilet cistern. grubby broken light pulls. Cracked lampshades on bedside lamps.. random unmatched tiles in bathroom and lime scale staining. Flaking paint on windows and failed double glazing on windows. Teenage staff doing their best in spite of the fact that it appeared noonehad paiduch attention to our room for 20 years.”

“It is a nice convenient hotel. Clean. Tea and coffee facilities were nice to settle down nicely on arrival and when I woke up in the morning. Mini refrigerator was handy to keep my leftover food in the refrigerator to eat in the morning. Comfortable table and internet. I give 4 star only as there was no toilet in the room and I hesitated to leave my room in the middle of the night.”

“I paid for an executive room for 3 nights, it wasn't what I was expecting, really basic, no extras, not even shampoo. Bed was rock hard. No restaurant, even though it says there is one on the building, the £11 breakfast was cereal yoghurt and fruit. Staff were helpful, in the first room I was assigned the toilet seat wasn't attached to the toilet... They moved us to another room, but it really wasn't a good night's sleep. Told them my unhappiness and they gave us a refund on the other 2 nights...
