Property was a little dated and in need of a refurb. Coffee machine at the bar not working and they ran out of forks at breakfast.
Checked in at 3pm, however, room was not ready with cleaners still cleaning the room. We were asked to go and wait in the bar for 20 minutes. No offer of a drink whilst we waited.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The breakfast was excellent for a mid range hotel. Very wide choice of cereals and seeds/nuts. Nicely cooked hot selection and good bread for toasting. Also granola with berries and yoghurt.
There are good views from the rooms but the air con is variable. Too hot in the reception area and the general decor could be improved. Parking is good though.
A large Holiday Inn in the countryside around 10 miles from Leeds. Free outside parking but on a steep hill so had to haul loggage up the steps.
Well laid out traditional Holiday Inn; booked in quickly. Standard room with Aircon and usual facilities.
Had evening bar snack meal which was good. Dodnt have time to try the amenities.
Overall a higher end 3 star hotel
Great location for concerts in Halifax. The hotel is superb with great amenities. The pool and gym area is excellent and the staff throughout are a credit to the group.
Convenient location, ample parking. Room was fine, shower a little under-pressured.
Arrived to find the room still needed a 3rd bed making up. Offered to pay on check in, but was brushed off. On check out late morning, no staff to be found anywhere near reception - I'm guessing they were all faffing about over the wedding that was being setup in the courtyard.
Left the key cards behind the counter. My credit card was billed for an incorrect amount +£30. Having to sort this via lengthy customer service process. Disappointed.
We have stayed there before and no problems
The food is excellent and plenty of choice
At first the bed was dirty but it was cleaned and changed straight away and the lovely lady who saw to it couldn't be more apologetic
The swimming pool was very crowded and In my opinion should be governed as there were no staff around
The grounds are really nice and pleasant
The bar area and separate seating areas and very good and we sat and watched the cup final
The hotel is in a great location for access to motorway and near towns and cities there is a local taxi telephone in reception but found the waiting times offered by the company for a taxi was about 40-50 mins so used Uber instead there within 10 mins we had a meal at hotel before going out for evening was really nice staff were very attentive to are needs and were very polite room was clean and tidy will stop here again
The rooms were clean. The room was spacious. The bar, restaurant, outside eating area and breakfast area were clean tidy and spacious. It was great having air con in the room and a pool to use. The noise from the motorway was loud either.
Upon arrival the hotel could not find our booking, even though this was booked some time ago. The staff found a room for us at very back of the hotel, obviously these rooms are kept for walking or IHC members that have late reservation.
The room itself although clean, was in need of repair/refresh, the AC was intermittent and would not stay on.
On arrival, we checked in as usual and were given a room key. When we entered the room, we discovered it was already occupied, with another guest’s belongings still inside. We returned to reception to report the issue and waited while another room was being found.
After a considerable delay, we were offered a different room, but it did not include the balcony we had originally booked. As this was not the room type we had reserved, we decided not to stay.
This was especially disappointing as it wasn’t the first time we had been given an occupied room at this hotel. Although the staff apologised, the experience was frustrating and left us with little confidence in the hotel’s room allocation process.
We were assured that we would receive a full refund as the situation was not our fault. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for this to be resolved. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.
Always a friendly welcome here. FOH, bar, restaurant staff are a credit to the hotel.
Premium rooms aren't honestly much of an upgrade on the regular rooms, and the previous 3 trips now the complimentary nibbles haven't been in the room.
That said, this has always been remedied promptly.
Good veggie options for snacks & dinner.
Always my preferred choice of location when I'm in the area.
