"This was a brilliant overnight stop off. We arrived in the evening and were told what time last orders for dinner would be. Ordered a fabulous veggie pizza which when it turned up was huge - delicious - and thoroughly enjoyed! Beer was good and the bar staff chatty and friendly. We had a family room for 2 of us - loads of space and beds were comfy. There was a heat wave so fans were provided - thoroughly appreciated! The booking included breakfast - what a delight the lady taking orders was! Fun, friendly and chatty! I had a vegetarian breakfast and soy milk - all no issue. (As a veggie it’s a delight to have a decent veggie alternative) others in our party ordered the traditional option and said how nice it was. Breakfast wasn’t rushed and we had a lovely leisurely chatty start to the day. The beer garden looked great - we arrived too late to enjoy it sadly - next time we will arrive earlier. Recommended and would definitely stay here again!"

"Parking was easy, lots of space despite the hotel being full. The room was clean. The hotel itself is pretty tired and in need of an update. There was plaster missing on the walls, the light switches did their own merry dance and there were only three sockets in the room (one has the tv in and one has the kettle) I had to unplug one to have a fan on whilst I charged my phone. All that said, these things were MORE than made up for by the absolute delight that was the staff! Every staff member I spoke with was absolutely lovely, they couldn't do enough for me and were chirpy and happy despite some really unreasonable and rude guests. I didn't see any hotel staff specifically - I think I was checked in by the restaurant manager, he was wonderful. super friendly and up for a laugh. the bar staff and restaurant staff were also wonderful, couldn't fault them at all. Overall the stay was enjoyable due to excellent staff and the bed was comfortable and clean. The shower was decent. "

"Stayed many times. Usually have better experience- this time the bathroom looked tired (rust, missing bit on shower) and it was very noisy. Waited quite a lot time for receptionist to check in - rang the number on desk (it wasn’t a late check in, but teatime) and it went to voicemail. Didn’t get expected bonus - drink. Overall underwhelmed"

Holiday Inn Northampton by IHG

"Arrival was really efficient and the reception team super accommodating and friendly. The carpark is large, and plenty of spaces. Must out registration of vehicle into tablet on reception desk to avoid a penalty fine. Bar and lounge area really well kept, and menu for drinks and food is great - including some deals. Bedroom was a fantastic size with two double beds. Clean and well appointed with a smart TV also. Breakfast on check-out morning was enough to fill us for the day until tea! We will stay again, for sure!"
