Buffalo Valley Ranch

2/10 Terrible

"Bruder muss los. Being real, not a great stay. The whole idea is great, the problem is how it's maintained and handled. The Tippi beds were slightly wet, you get a towel to clean that off tho. However 2 of the 4 beds were falling apart and we had to fix them ourselves before we were able to lay down. For a stay fee they give you sheets, blankets... but even that without love, no pillows, had to use a shirt wrapped around a towel as a pillow. Added it was way to cold for the equipment they give you, let me just say we each had our own blanket brought from the car and yet we were freezing throughout the night. On our roof was a wasp nest, was not a big issue to me, especially since it was still to cold for them, I think it will be there for the next guest too tho:) It would really not take a lot to upgrade and make the stay a cool tipi night, feels like the whole ranch included staff does not care to change that. And normally I'm not even that picky, however if I can say I slept better in my own tent in freezing temperatures 3000 meter elevation (I mean had a proper sleeping bag and mat) but I hope I'm warning everyone. At the end the biggest problem really was the temperatur, all the other things I would not complain about if it would not be for the crazy price!!! The price does not match at all what you receive, honestly that's the thing making me the most mad, it was one of my most expensive stays through my USA trip for that. Just warning everyone coming in cold times:)"

Mountain Modern Jackson Hole

"I booked three rooms including family members that ranged in age from <10 yo to >75. I booked months in advance to make sure the rooms were kept as close together, and on the first floor due to mobility issues making stairs with luggage an impossibility. A week or so before the booking, I called ahead to make sure that the note could be seen, and reemphasize the importance. While it was still too far in advance to guarantee exactly which rooms we would be in, I was assured the ground floor was no problem and the notes were on the account to assure our rooms when the staff assigned guest locations. After driving six hours, my party of seven arrived. The motel had booked us on the 2nd floor. It took me having to get snappy (which wasn’t difficult after the drive) before the rep would start trying to place us on the first floor. I do appreciate that she got us on the first floor (although in different buildings)— but I shouldn’t have had to get irritated first. She acknowledged that the notes were there, but the previous staff who assigned the rooms must have missed it. Other than that customer service miss, the place was more comparable to a hotel versus a motel, with nice clean rooms with ample space, and a beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub that we made use of. However if you have special requests, make sure you call that morning as well even if you have notes on the account and had previously confirmed via phone."

The Rockwell Inn

"I can't say enough about the staff here. We had a few issues with our stay and I reached out to leave feedback. I was immediately called by the manager and after playing phone tag was able to have a conversation. Price was extremely apologetic and explained and took accountability for the few issues that we had which was above and beyond what I had expected or what generally happens these days. The property is very well maintained, great location, lovely hot tub, etc. It is definitely a more motel style but very convenient, clean and peaceful. We will def give it another try as I am confident that our concerns were not only taken to heart but will not happen again."
