Nice but no hot water

Let down as we had no hot water all 3 days while we were there. Otherwise the hotel was nice. The staff are lovley.

Maisha was a beautiful hotel with friendly and kind staff. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The beach bar had great food and drinks and we ate there every night. Would definitely stay here again.

Vacker, lummig miljö - som att bo i en djungel med två pooler. Rummen var fräscha, sängarna sköna. Trevlig personal, och god mat i restaurangen. Vi var väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse!

Excellent place to stay, everything was perfect

Well trained and friendly staff, great management, friendly atmosphere. The two pool and the garden are amazing, tasty fresh breakfast. Comfortable room, hot tube in the terrace is the best idea in the whole island. Small hotel but way better than any big resorts in the island

Just perfect

The place is so peaceful and so beautiful. The restaurant on the beach was clearly one of the best tried in Zanzibar. Special mention for the staff, that was the kindest people we meet. Everyone was so nice. I totally recommend the hotel !

We had an amazing stay at Aluna. It's a perfect location if you're looking for somewhere a bit quieter and more relaxing in Nungwi, but still very walkable along the beach to bars and restaurants. The room was a great size, comfortable and good air conditioning, and the food at both the hotel restaurant and the beach club was exceptional. Plus the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming too. Highly recommend staying here!

I loved my stay at Aluna Nungwi. The staff was so helpful, welcoming and amazing. The room and pool was perfect for relaxing. The food was great- both at the restaurant at the hotel and the one on the beach. Just be aware the beach near the hotel isn’t the best but you can arrange a Tuk tuk to Nungwi. For me I loved just hanging by the pool and getting massages (which were the best!)

Tolles kleines Resort für Ruheliebende

Das Maisha Nungwi ist wirklich zu empfehlen, wenn man ein kleines und feines Resort für Paare sucht. Das Zimmer war echt top. Sehr schön und sehr sauber. Die Anlage ist auch sehr ordentlich in Schuss und das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die beiden Pools sind auch schön und sehr angenehm temperiert. Das A la carte Frühstück ist super. Das Buffet Frühstück war nicht so aufregend. Während unseres Aufenthalt war immer abwechselnd A la Carte und Buffet. Das Hotel hat ein nettes Restaurant am Strand 2 Gehminuten entfernt. Das war auch sehr gut.

Hotel en Zanzíbar con estandares europeos

Hotel bonito y acogedor, con detalles de buen gusto. El personal muy competente y profesional especialmente Robert y el masai de la recepcion. Delante hay una playa en la que te puedes bañar cuando la marea esta alta. El desayuno y las comidas en la terraza són un placer tambien visual con el mar al fondo. El único inconveniente, y que no se debe al hotel, és que solo hay un restaurante al lado, para ir a otros tienes que desplazarte entre 15 i 20 minutos, y por la noche, hay poquisima luz.

La struttura si inserisce perfettamente nell’ambiente ed ho particolarmente gradito la vegetazione, il legno e le due piscine che sembrano incastonate nella natura! Le persone che lavorano all’Aluna hanno sempre un sorriso da regalare e sono disponibili per qualsiasi eventualità. Abbiamo avuto nostra figlia che non è stata bene ma sono stati tutti gentilissimi e le preparavano appositamente da mangiare. Sono bene organizzati e con il Tuctuc sono facilmente raggiungibili le spiagge di Nungwi e Kendwa o i vari ristorantini sulla costa. Un posto davvero rilassante !

Aluna is a beautiful property surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees. With 2 pools and ample sunbeds it was a very relaxing stay for us. Our lodge type room was lovely but we would have liked a fridge in the room. The beach was just a short walk away but the road outside the hotel that lead to the beach bar could have been better with some lighting. The breakfast was very nice but we thought the days when it was buffet style rather than a la carte was a much better idea. We had a massage during our stay which was very good and great value for money. All the staff were excellent and so helpful. We would definitely recommend Aluna.

Leider war unser Aufenthalt insgesamt enttäuschend. Die Sauberkeit liess stark zu wünschen übrig: verschmutzte Stühle, ein ungepflegter Pool mit Haaren und Insekten, eine Kakerlake in der Dusche und klemmende Zimmertüren. Das Bett war unbequem, und das Mückennetz darüber hatte mehrere Löcher. Nur an einem von vier Tagen erhielten wir die korrekte Anzahl an Handtüchern. Auf der Karte standen diverse Softdrinks, tatsächlich gab es aber vier Tage lang nur Wasser. Das Frühstück war geschmacklich okay, aber die Portionen sehr klein – ein Nachschlag wurde abgelehnt. Der “Chia-Pudding” bestand nur aus Joghurt mit unaufgequollenen Samen. Fruchtfliegen am Buffet und Schimmelspuren an Wasserkaraffen waren zudem sehr unhygienisch. Auch der Service war enttäuschend: Nach dem Sport warteten wir über 30 Minuten auf ein Glas Wasser. Das Personal wirkte wenig herzlich und unmotiviert. Die Umgebung war alles andere als ruhig: Abends hörte man die Bässe eines nahegelegenen Clubs, morgens weckten uns Baustellenlärm oder ein krähender Hahn. Positiv: Das Problem mit dem Warmwasser wurde schnell gelöst, und beim Check-out gab es eine frische Kokosnuss. Trotzdem überwiegen klar die negativen Eindrücke. Der Aufenthalt wirkte insgesamt lieblos und auf Gewinnmaximierung ausgerichtet – ohne Fokus auf Qualität oder Gästezufriedenheit. Keine Empfehlung unsererseits.

There is an anoucement (?) local speaker around the hotel. So nosiy even around 5 am. I could find many insects in the room (floor is wood like old school) and window is not sealed perfectly so flies or other bugs can come through. No fridge in the room but maybe you can borrow (5$ per day). The room was written as a seaview on the page but barely can see the sea Toilet is in the room but it is not separated!!! NO DOOR!!! so everyone in the room can hear and smell me very closely. Never seen before. Not easy to use hot water for long time. Jet tub is in balcony, no hot water from jet tub and full of containment. Some room is under construction. And also they calculated 1$ = 2400 TSH, when we tried to pay in TSH! They get 20% margin for themselves (Normally 1$=2000 TSH) Also when we checked out we were not properly paid back with coins (even that was small money, they should have told me that they didnot have enongh change, but they did not even say SORRY) There were still good thing though Owner (maybe) and staff(except reception) was friendly and kind. Food is good. And airconditioner works well 라마단 기간이라 그런지 어쩐지 새벽 6시에 방송이 쩌렁쩌렁 나오고 주변길은 물웅덩이 투성이. 방은 벌레 투성이. 1달러를 2400 실링으로 받고 체크아웃시 잔돈 동전은 다 안주고 미안하단말도 없음. 아무리 소액이라도 고객 돈을 제대로 취급하지 않는 기분. 주변에 밥 먹을곳도 없음. 새 객실을 늘리는건지 공사중. 변기가 격리되지 않아서 소리, 냄새 모두 공유... 샤워시설의 따뜻한물은 조금쓰면 잘 안 나옴. Sea view 라고 되어있지만 거의 보이지 않고 jet tub 는 야외에 있어서 벌레와 나뭇잎등으로 차있음. 에어컨은 빵빵하게 나옴. 숙소내에서 먹는 음식은 먹을만 함. 오너로 보이는 사람이랑 식당 직원들은 친절
