We couldn’t understand why the place was mostly empty, but we stayed mid-week, and the place clearly caters to Italians (even the spa menu was only in Italian). "If you want a true Italian family experience then a stay at BnB La Mortella is the answer. We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour. The BnB was a bit hard to find but once we were there it was worth seeking. Antonio and his family also work the land with citrus and olive groves dominating the landscape. "My great grandfather was born in the very small town of Aquara and, in planning our trip from the USA to Italy, we were looking for a peaceful, welcoming spot to stay while we paid a short visit to the city. The staff was terrifically accommodating and the property was beautiful. There is a restaurant, small bar and pool on site as well as short walking trail, hammocks and, since they are up on a hill, beautiful views of the valley below Aquara. "

"Wir haben bedauert, nicht einen Tag länger geblieben zu sein. Der Weg zu den Tempel ist nicht lang und somit ist der Standort günstig. Schräg gegenüber ist eine Bar mit netten Bedienungen, falls man das Frühstück nicht selber machen möchte."
